Makana Home Remodeling

We were super excited to hire Dave.  He seemed professional, knowledgeable, and excited to work with us.  When the job started his "guys" were there working on it.  Not a big deal to start.  We were missing a few transition strips that needed to be ordered, but otherwise the work was done.   Here's what happened/what we found out after they left:
-They left the place a mess.  They had dust, spackle, paint everywhere.  They had permanent marker on the floorboards that they didn't clean up.  Our curtains were a mess.  There were cigarette butts all over our front and back yards.  While we didn't expect them to professionally clean our house, we didn't think it would be such a mess.
-They installed 3/4 ceiling fans incorrectly.  One of them, they did not do the wiring correctly and it blew a fuse.  We didn't know why the fuse had blown, so we had to hire an electrician to find out.  By LAW, they are required to tell owners if a box is not a fan rated box.  They only told us this AFTER we mentioned that one of the fans looked like it was about to fall down.
-The floors were installed terribly.  There is a huge dip in our hallway that can only be fixed by re-doing the entire hallway floor. 
Turns out his "guys" don't even officially work with Dave.  He outsoursed the job to someone else who doesn't even work officially for him (found this out when it was time to pay them).  
I have had to hire 3 additional people (electityion, floor repair, fan installation) to fix for their mistakes. He was unapologetic about his mistakes when I brought them to his attention and when I told him I didn't want his "guys" there anymore and asked him to come fix it, he agreed - but then when he scheduled it, he wasn't going to be there again and he was just going to have them do it. 
Terrible professionalism and work.  Do not hire under any circumstances.

David bid the job and was very knowledgable and polite. He walked me through everything that would need to be done. I was working on a tight budget and David's bid was considerably lower than any other bid. The cost however was in no way a reflection of the quality of work that was performed. The crew, John and Cisco were very nice, extremely good and very fast. They treated my house better than I would have. On more than one occasion they would stop and explain what they were doing and why. The floors turned out perfect, my baseboards were reinstalled better than when they started and the house was flawlessly cleaned. That by itself is very impressive because with all the cuts there is quite a bit of dust when working. I will definitely use Makana in the future and I have already recommended them to several friends who are getting ready to do floors or other remodel projects on their house.
