I'm an assisted principal at a school, so I have a deal for like $29 a month and it's pretty inexpensive. The big thing for me is that it has to be a place where my kids can go because my wife is working and they have child care. I can pay a little bit extra to get child care and it's $10 a month. I pay $29 plus the $10, so that's a big selling point. They have a variety of items to use. To me a gym is a gym, but they have classes that you can take, which they do, but really the big thing is child care. If I'm going to be able to go I have to have child care and I have to have something that keeps it flexible, so that's a big selling point for me.

This is a great gym. I have never had to wait to get on cardio equipment, which is awesome. The locker rooms are very well-kept. What really sold me on a membership was the beautiful pool and hot tob, sauna, and steam room. I recommend this LA Fitness to anyone looking to join a gym.

The sales advisor showed me around the club and everything went as expected. The club seemed to have just about everything, including a large pool and handball courts. I went ahead and joined and do not regret my decision. They don't have contracts, so that's nice.
I like this location because it's close to home. The machines are usually working fine, but sometimes things break and they put a sign on the machine and it's usually fixed the next time I come in. As always, going at rush hour will result in waiting for machines you want to use, but I try to go in the mid-afternoon before the crowds get there. Also on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, the place can be nearly empty.
They have a good selection of group fitness classes, and I normally go to the step aerobics on Monday afternoon. They also have yoga and Zumba and other classes but I haven't been to them yet. Handball courts are rarely used, although the basketball court always seems to have people using it. They have juice bar but the prices are a bit high for my budget. The men's locker room is large and attractive, and there's plenty of lockers available, even at rush hour.
I noticed that LA Fitness recently acquired the old Target store at 7th Ave and Camelback and they are building a new club there. I have been meaning to ask if this will replace the 20th and Camelback location or if it will just be an additional club. This is something you might ask if location is important to you.
To sum up, I like this club and I would recommend it to others. They don't have contracts so you can cancel at any time (but ask them to explain the procedure, because it requires a 30-day notice which results in paying for an additional month... you can use that month, but it would be nice to just cancel without having to pay for that extra month which you may or may not use).
