Complete disaster. A nightmare. Jesus Osario came highly recommended from a friend of a friend, who lives in an upscale home in Scottsdale. Jesus Osario performed many upgrades in her home. I personally inspected the bathroom and was impressed by the complexity of the job. This client held Jesus in high regard, as did her neighbor who also allowed me to view the good work he had done in her home. Jesus' price was way below the other bids I recieved. I wrote everything I wanted out, as much as I could without having construction experience. Jesus agreed to my terms and confidently began work along with his crew, some of who did not speak much English. Because Jesus came so highly recommended and because I saw his past work, it took me a very long time to realize that for whatever reason, Jesus and his crew were unskilled and incompetent. I know this sounds harsh, but - especially to my surprise- this is the truth. After rebuilding the cabinets over and over again Jesus could still not get the sizes and porportions right. My kitchen is not difficult at all. it is a hallway with cabinets on either side. I wanted a plain, white kitchen-flat panels. Can't get much simpler than this. Jesus could not ever get it right. He must have rebuilt the kitchen two or three times over- extending the remodeling project 6 months (it should have taken 2-3 at most) and putting my household through h***. I even measured everything out for him and drew a diagram. Unfortunately he would leave those drawings at my house and tried to do everything from memory at his shop. He would insist that he knew what he was doing, and that if something was wrong he would be glad to fix it free of charge. That all he wanted was to make his clients happy..... Some major issues is that he presented me his ROC liscense. The truth is that he let is liscense expire and is practicing illegally. Secondly, he sprayed my cabinets with automotive paint- inside the house. This is highly toxic, and shoud have been done in a shop instead of inside my home. He forgot to use primer the first paint job and so the wood began to bleed through the white paint. So then he had to spray again with primer, then spray white over that. He never let the paint cure, so the paint easily peeled right off in sheets. The paint was peeling even before he was done with the job. He sprayed multiple times but never figured out that if you spray wet over wet, there will be adhesion issues. It was so toxic we couldn't sleep in the house. Later I found out It is ILLEGAL to spray car paint inside a residence. The overspray and particulates got into the duct work- my house was a mess of white dust for 6 months, and a highly toxic environment. Also, the contract states that I was to recieve Maple Doors- ALL WOOD BOXES and Doors. instead, I got cheap junk for some of the cabinets, and solid pine for others. It is a hodgepodge. Jesus' crew caused much damage to my home. They scratched and ruined the finish on my brand new stainless steel Bosch Fridge because they didn't bother to move it out of the way. After I caught them painting over WET drywall mud to fill a 1" gap without putting anything sturdy to fill the gap first, I realized that I might know more than they did about construction! I decided to get involved in the work process. I dropped everything in my life and attempted to sand and paint along side the workers so I could keep an eye on them and manage the crew. My tenant (who I highly respect) reported that his $350 watch was missing. I can't prove anything but default evidence points to one of Jesus' crew members. Eventually I had to face facts- and fire Jesus. I didn't finish paying him, but I paid him too much. I spent another 2K on handymen taking apart and redoing and refinishing what should have taken him a few days to do. He cost me more than just money- stress, time, and rental income. Now my kitchen is complete, but it is not what I signed up for. My cabinet doors are warping and are not evenly hung. I have concerns that the whole thing might fall apart in a year or two. This man should not be practicing construction and I can't figure out how he managed to do such a wonderful job at my friends' home. the only silver lining is that through my distress I discovered Angies List. If I had known about this site I could have found a good company for a decent price and avoided all the hassle. Now I'm using Angie's list for everything and I LOVE it!
