About us
We are a general contractor with the owners on site and hands on with our workers. Most work is done in house. Our subcontractors have been doing business with us for over a decade. Most small projects do not require a deposit, we simply ask for a check after your job is complete, you are happy and we are on the way out the door. Larger projects require payments defined prior to start of work. The most important things we believe makes a successful project is not only doing a quality job, but to always leave you at the financial advantage for peace of mind.

Patrick came out to our house to visually understand what we were looking for and where we wanted the fireplace. In our case, the work required Chris and Morgan to tear down an outside wall, remove 8' long wood indoor shutters and accompanying window, and plan for the intersection with the roof line. We wanted a stucco chimney, with a cap, and a zero clearance fireplace inside (minimal floor space).
As for our fireplace, we wanted a very large custom built gas fireplace, with a 3 tier gas log holder, a tile surround on the exterior of the fireplace and on the floor just in front of the fireplace. We also wanted a solid wood dentil, mantel and wood surround covering the outer edges of the fireplace tile.
Their work was very laborious -- like setting up the gas pipeline from the outside of the outside, through the attic, to the actual fireplace. Additionally, they had to build the outside frame for the chimney, which they later stuccoed and painted. Chris had team specialists come out to do this work, which he supervised. All went perfectly. In fact, when the painting was completed, the fellow who did it wound up painting the rest of the back portion of the house, so the paint on the chimney would not look different than that which was on the house. We were very impressed by this integrity.
Morgan is the artistic person of the team, and he is the one who recommended the final design and modification to the fireplace surround. He explained that because of the size of the fireplace, our surround needed to be taller than we originally planned. He was absolutely RIGHT!!! This one change has made friends an family just conclude our fireplace is one of the nicest they have ever seen in their lives. He is a perfectionist and made sure all measurements were absolutely perfect -- hence, no mistakes at all!!
The whole building process was kept very tidy and clean throughout. They were very careful each day to clean up and to minimize messes. Additionally, they had no loud radio (as some vendors do) music, which we appreciated. They just quietly went about their work day in and day out. They had very hard labor at times, and they just worked so well together to get the task completed.
All of the fireplace supplies were picked up by Chris and Morgan and everything arrived intact. No delays due to missing parts etc.
The tile installation for the surround went in fine as well. The person who did the tiling work for Chris, actually made a recommendation on how best to cut the tile that was sitting on the floor in front of the fireplace. Once again, because of his experience, he was right.
It turned out way better than our original plan and we are happy we went with his recommendation.
So the bottom line for us is this. If you want an incredibly hard-working, conscious, team of workers, led by a highly experienced, easy going leader, then Chris, Morgan and team are the professionals you are looking for. They were punctual EVERY single day and when they said they would be. Once they started the job, they did not stop to work on other projects except the days when the town inspectors were scheduled to be here. Chris and Morgan gave it their all just as if they were building the fireplace for themselves.
Finally, the fireplace was completed and Chris remembered one tiny thing he forgot to do up on the roof and returned the very next morning, ladder in hand to make the tiny fix (about 10 minutes worth of work).
The only slow down in the project was due to the multiple inspections required and the long delay by the towns people doing this work. Plan for this, because this caused a several week delay and at least 5 inspections were needed. There is also at the outset of the project, approval by the town's people of the fireplace blueprint. Again, this took quite a bit of time to get reviewed and approved -- but out of Chris and Morgan's hands. They regularly followed up, only to learn plans had not been reviewed yet etc. etc. This was the only frustrating part of the project for ALL of us -- including Chris and Morgan. Bottom-line Chris and Morgan and team are AWESOME!
