The company was quick and efficient with the demo and landscape of the back yard. As time went on though I noticed a lack of desire for service. Many times our pool was full of grass after the weekly service. There were times that the crew did not even show up for the service. As life gets busy I had not called the company and looked at it as an over site or that they possibly had equipment problems that day. That was my first mistake. In October our service was missed 2 weeks in a row. We called the company 3 times on different days with no calls back. Finally I got in contact with a receptionist and I had ask her about our requests for a call back as their answering machine requests and we had not gotten any. Her statement was she was "absent" one of the days from work and Becky one of the owners was working. She did not know why I had not received any calls back. I informed her that our service had been skipped two weeks in a row. She could offer no explanation as to why or any apology. I requested that we have winter lawn put in as we had done for the past 2 years and I was told she would need special permission to request that because I had not paid for the service. I explained that money was no issue and would gladly pay online immediately, which I did. I received a call back from the supervisor Steve. They threw seed out on lawn 2 days later with no prep. I had ask him about lightening and he stated that another supervisor handled that and to call "Ed". After approx 2 weeks and 2 texts messages later Ed fixed several of my burned out bulbs and then one week later I received a letter from HMS Landscape Services explaining to me that I did not fit their business plan and they would not longer be providing "services" to me any longer. The letter state that "the property no longer corresponds with the criteria established for our landscape services. Thus, it is our best interest to end our agreement for monthly landscape services." So if your looking for a landscape company to service your property by showing up, replace special lightening installed by them and reseed for your winter lawn don't look to HMS landscaping because they did not offer those services even if you have informed them money is no issue. I had been a faithful customer for over 4 years and it seemed the minute I requested service I was not a big enough account for them to service. It just seems so ironic that a week after my requests were completed after much patience I was "dumped' by this company. i understand they also have a desire to do possibly larger jobs but the little ones may be their bread and butter some day. There is certainly more details to this story as far as the service portion of this business is concerned. i do not wish to wade through all the minut details but needless to say with our economy the way it is I'm surprised that a small business would turn its back on a faithful customer who had never missed a payment and have been happy to pay more for service
Description of Work: I hired HMS Landscapes to refurbish my back yard and then to continue with maintenance of the yard, sprinklers, "special effects" lighting etc. I was supported by the decisions I made on the new design of the yard by both supervisors Jeff and Steve that they would be there for the maintenance and that having grass up by the pool would be no problem for their crews to service. I had also inquired about the special effects lightening and replacing the bulbs and again told not to worry that their company would handle all maintenance of the property until I no longer desired their services. The yard installation was completed and we re entered into the maintenance phase of the the yard work. HMS had been doing my lawn maintenance work for several years before this. Because of the consistency of my previous experience with the company I continued with their services.
