I recently had to replace my microwave and requested a trim kit that would both frame the new unit properly and blend in with the existing custom cabinetry. Someone was sent out to take measurements, and after a few weeks, the trim kit was ready. A different technician came out to install it, and the entire process took no more than 15 minutes. He attached two pieces of plywood to the frame using six pin nails, which he claimed would be sufficient to hold the microwave in place. I expressed concern at the time, pointing out that I believed screws should be used inside the frame for stability. The technician assured me that the nails would be adequate. The next day, my nanny used the microwave, unaware that the frame was only secured with pin nails. As a result, the right side of the frame dislodged. When I contacted the owner about the issue, he accused me of intentionally damaging the installation and has since refused to respond or send anyone to fix the problem. I paid $415 for what amounted to two pieces of poorly secured wood and a frustrating experience marked by poor workmanship and unprofessional behavior. As someone who has owned and remodeled five homes, I can confidently say this is the worst contractor experience I’ve had. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company and instead work with professionals who offer better customer service and competent craftsmanship.

I think they did a good job. They were careful. They had to move the table and turn it on its side. They brought one of their furniture mats, so that it wouldn't scratch the table. He had to go out twice to find the right hinge. In 50 years, things change. I think they're a little pricey. He was about an half hour late. He was polite. He told me what he was going to do.

They made a small mistake with the picking up of furniture but they did fix that. The work was impeccable. They are very honest and he is an extremely ethical person. They are very nice people to work with and he even put up a couple of pictures for us. He tries to make the work as inexpensive as possible by seeing if he can do the work in your home before the removal. Chris is the owner and it was a pleasure to work with him. The employees were very hard workers and only took off for lunch.

THOUGH THE FURNITURE WAS "COMPLETED" AND DELIVERED ON THE DATE AGREED UPON, AFTER MUCH LATER TURNING THE CHAIRS OVER TO ATTACH THE UPHOLSTERED SEATS, IT WAS CLEAR THAT THE REFINISHING ONLY CONSISTED OF THE TOP OF THE CHAIR ARMS AND LADDER BACK RUNGS AND OTHER WOOD PIECES. THIS WAS AN OLD AND VERY FINE WOOD SET THAT HAD BEEN VERY NICELY FINISHED TO BEGIN WITH. THERE IS NOW A ROUGH SURFACE TO ALL OF THE "UNSEEN" WOOD PIECES EXCEPT ONE ARM OF ONE CAPTAIN'S CHAIR. WHEN I CALLED TO INQUIRE HOW WE COULD REMEDY THIS, THE MANAGER/OWNER, CHRIS, WAS RUDE AND INSULTING. HE MADE IT CLEAR THAT HE HAD NO INTEREST IN MY CONCERNS, THAT "IT DIDN'T SHOW," AND HE WOULD NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. HE SAID "HE WAS HOLDING ALL THE CARDS" AND I COULD COMPLAIN ALL I WANTED BUT HE DIDN'T PLAN TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS IS NOT AN ATTITUDE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED FROM ANYONE I'VE DEALT WITH ON THE LIST! I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED AND WILL HAVE TO HAVE THE CHAIRS FIXED BY SOMEONE ELSE.

"Upon delivery, the customer was pleased with the results of our work. If there is a quality control issue with our work (and it happens), it is usually noticeable immediately. Furniture repair is pretty straightforward; a poor finish on a table is evident when the plastic is removed by the deliverymen and a repaired chair leg is either straight, with no visible seam or it isn't. If we find that we have deviated from the signed scope of work, we fix it. Regarding this complaint, the customer did not bring it to our attention until 45 days after delivery. Regarding the issue at hand, the "rough surface" of some unseen areas, we ask anyone to feel the underside of a chair at home or at a restaurant and note that this is not an area that usually gets finished. What is being requested here is not a quick on-site fix, but involves bringing said items back to the shop, involving several hours of prep and booth-time. The additional work requested here is clearly beyond the original agreed-upon scope, is of considerable cost, and can not be performed without additional charge. Furniture Medic has been in business in the Valley for 12 yrs with literally thousands of happy and repeat clientele. We appreciate the opportunity to tell our side of the story."

REPAIRED TABLE WITH DEEP SCRATCHES THAT WE THOUGHT WAS BEYOND REPAIR. EXPLAINED PROCESS AND EXPECTED RESULTS VERY WELL. TABLE CAME OUT LOOKING NEARLY PERFECT. EXPECTATIONS WERE MANAGED WELL.
