the service tech was very nice but a house less than two years old should not have a freon leak and if so should be covered!
you can buy freon for 135$ per 25# container so charging twice as much would have been enough not 5 times as much!
!this is a new development and extrordin air supplied all the systems and we are not the only ones to have problems
My complaint is the money spent and am not happy

Beware!!
Extrordin-air installed the AC unit in our new build in 2009. While we were away, my son visited the house and when he arrivedon Saturday, the AC unit did not put out cold air. Our builder gave us the number to Extrordin-air as they perform the warranty work for our development. Their website displays the following motto: ?Our mission is to provide extraordinary service with professional people at the best value.? At best, we found only 1 of these 3 claims to be even slightly true.
We were told that it would cost us $120 to diagnose the problem, however, once the technician arrived and determined the problem (several other houses in the community have had the same issue), he called us 15 minutes after he arrived and informed us that a soldered joint had cracked and all the Freon had leaked out and that it would be nearly $1150 to repair joint and replace the Freon.
Issue #1 - When we questioned the high cost, we were informed it would cost us $345 if he didn't do the work as there was an additional flat $225 diagnosis charge despite being told that the call would only cost us $120. I was in too deep to turn back and call another company out on the weekend at this point.
Issue #2 - We were charged nearly double the going rate for freon - $35 lb. I believe they may have overbilled this charging me for 14 lbs when I believe my unit only holds 12 but have yet to confirm this.
Issue #3 - Total time at the house, including time on the phone was just under 3 hours. Total labor charges were $645 or $215 an hour. When I questioned that rate I was told they didn't charge by the hour but by the job.
Issue #4 - The crack in the joint was due to their poor design using a u joint requiring 3 extra joints to be soldered. The tech told us they have had several of these go bad and some multiple times so they have changed the joint to a straight tube. I was told this was not a parts issue therefore no warranty. I wouldn't have had as much of an issue with this had it not been for the poor design by their original install.
Issue #5 - I called the owner several times and he was never in the office so I left him my name and number and a general message about concern over the charges and asked him to call me at his convenience. 3 days later after receiving no contact, I put a note on their website with more detailed concerns asking for the ability to talk things over.
It has now been 15 days and I have had no contact from the owner. I have since gotten other quotes using my invoice and was told the charge should have been no more than $500 - $600 (weekend rate) to do the same work.
I suggest steering clear or Extrordin-air. If you proceed, make sure to ask a lot of questions before having them come out to avoid these same excessive, undisclosead charges.

I first called this company for annual AC service because several of my neighbors use them. The first visit went well; they are familiar with the property; for example, they know an extra-long ladder is required for access. I intended to continue to use them, but the second proposed visit completely turned me off. They did not call to schedule (as promised) in a timely manner; when I finally called them, they set a date, and I stayed home that afternoon to allow access. When they hadn't shown up by 3 p.m. I called the office to confirm that the tech would still be coming. The office checked in with him, and he said he'd soon be on his way. Unbelievably, at 6 p.m. he finally called to say he wouldn't be coming after all! He couldn't have let me know before then?? I had waited since noon! With that kind of unprofessionalism, did I want to wait around another day for him? I don't think so. I asked for a refund of my prepayment (which was provided) and called another company.

They are good. They come on time. Their prices are a little high, but overall they aren't too bad. If you have a service contract with them, they offer a discount on parts and any repairs.

It is refreshing to find a company today that answers the phone by a live person (no long waits with a recorded message). I was able to deal directly with Donald Berschauer, the owner of the company. Don was always available to take my calls and returned my calls if needed. He kept me informed at all times while we waited for the part from the manufacturer. Since this job was covered by my home warranty company, I do not know the cost but I would bet they would be competively priced. We were so happy dealing with them that we canceled our contract with our present HVAC company for semi-annual check ups and contracted with Extrordiair.
