Brian was a little difficult to get in contact with again. Then the start date got moved back, and the patio actually started getting installed prior to Brian's guys coming out to lay PVC down for the speaker wires. Things weren't really going well.
Then, when the day finally came, Brian's guys were on-time, laid back and quite understanding of the hectic environment within which they were asked to work. I tend to over-specify requests and constantly critique contractors, and these guys put up with it from start to finish. They really knew what they were doing, too. This was all retro work, so I figured there would be some significant drywall patching required, but after running 5 pairs of speaker wires, six Cat6 wires and ROMEX for the new outlet through a wall *with a firebreak*, there was only one small interior patch visible in the entire house. My outdoor situation was a little more complex, since the cans were installed in a 6and quot; deep flat-roofed patio, so three small cutouts had to be made.
Regardless, for only $3500, these guys were patient, quiet, hard-working and high-quality. The communication issues that started off the relationship didn't last throughout the entire job, but it did make the company look a little unprofessional to begin with. To be fair, I think they deal with a lot of commercial contracts, and my job was probably low on the priority list. Plus, they made up for it with their *very* competitive pricing, flexibility (I actually split this job across 3 weeks while I was out of town, and they came back in to finish it as if they'd never left), commitment to getting the job done right for a satisfied customer and just all-around friendliness.
I'd recommend them for anyone that doesn't feeling like running cables through an attic in Phoenix in June/July/August!
