I got the service call deal in order to get the locks changed at my new house. My appointment was scheduled within 24 hours of purchase. Gary (and later Alfonso) were very courteous and punctual. I got a phone call from the dispatcher when Gary was on the way and again from Gary himself when he needed to confirm the address. Rather than re-key the existing locks on 3 doors, I asked to change the locks completely including swapping out one double-cylinder deadbolt for a single. This was done and with efficiency. Gary made suggestions for which locks should and could share the same key. The front door lock was plenty old and gave Gary some fits. He called Alfonso who came immediately and determined a part had fallen off the lock. Alfonso was able to fabricate the missing part (costing me $75) which saved me from either trying to find a replacement lock that uses three holes rather than the usual two, or replace the entire door. Definitely a saving in both time and money than replacing the door and lock. Everyone did a good job, was punctual, professional and thorough. I would definitely recommend Downtown Locksmith.

Had to have them come twice. They did not understand that this was a new installation, ie the hole for the cyclinder had to be drilled into the door, and they did not have the tools the first time. They came back the next day did a great job and even helped adjust the strikeplate on a nearby door that had been sticking.

Everything went very smoothly; all locks were replaced, and new keys were provided. I'm very happy with the quality of the work, and even left their business card at our old house (we had just moved) to encourage the new owners to contact them for rekeying those locks.

Excellent. He needed to change the time of the appointment and called to make sure when it could fit in. He was on time and professional in all ways.
The lock was old, broken and very difficult. Part of the cost was an Angie's List big deal for the service call only. this was clarified when I called to clarify the deal before buying it. The cost for a lot of time and effort was much less than I expected. Needless to say I am delighted with the attitude and the results.

Lost a key to a hitch lock. Went into the office and asked if they could make a key. They could not make a key but were able to open the lock and give me the information I needed to get a new key. When I asked them what I owed they told me not to worry about it. Polite, friendly and quick. Will be calling them to re-key the house at some point this year.

They could have sold me a new key and transponder but the young man behind the counter made extra efforts to salvage my existing one, installed battery for me, and refused any payment. Other than for a few keys copied, I can't get these guys to charge me for anything despite the labor involved. On both my last visits, I was advised "No charge. Keep us in mind for the future." Though there as no appointment or service call as I went to the shop, I am including an "A" for punctuality as they provided on-the-spot service and resolution. Granted this would not have been possible if other customers had been ahead of me, but there were not and I appreciated the courtesy and immediate service. They've also been patient and generous with lock and security questions and advice. Should I ever have a major locksmith-ing project or problem, I would call on Downtown Locksmith with no hesitation. Additionally, I like that they're of business of some longstanding and that they have a storefront location.

I needed keys for my mailbox. I had gone to two Home Depots and one Lowes and neither one could even find a blank that would work. I went to Downtown Locksmith on Angie's recommendation. He asked what the key went to, found the blanks, cut the keys and after paying, I was out the door in about five minutes start to finish. They were courteous and professional. The keys worked with no problems. I will definitely use them again when I need a locksmith.
