Door Doctor

Tracks tightened. All elements lubed. Light bulb replaced. Extra remote provided.

We looked at three companies. The first recommended a new opener mechanism for $940. The second recommended one as well but quoted $650 for the same thing. Neither company attempted to evaluate the problem even though the door worked consistently while they were there. Ron from Door Doctor said it was one of two things causing the problem, one fixable and the other not worth the money to repair i.e. replace the opening mechanism. He took it apart, found the issue, replaced the part, serviced the rest of the door and charged $110. I did not sense that he was looking to up sell me or do more than was necessary to fix the opener. This is someone I would want to do business with again. He was also prompt on his arrival and they fit us into their schedule quickly.

It was okay, nothing terrible. Their advertising said that it was a $19 service call that they would deduct from any work that they did. The only thing that I asked them to do was to replace the seal on the bottom of the door. I priced the cost of those seals and they weren't that terribly expensive. I felt that the cost for the installed seal that they gave me was a little bit on the high side, with no real explanation of what cost what. It was just, "Here is the amount you owe." So that was the only concern that I had. Other than that, he did a good job. He went through the system and made sure that everything was working. He gave me some heads up on some damage that was being done because there was a problem with the way the door was buckling. The tech that was out here was quite good and professional but he didn't give me that feeling of being fully forthcoming.

Excellent - no problems
The Technician pointed out 2 other areas that needed attantion.
The seal at the bottom of the door was badly torn and the door wheels were plastic.
He gave me a price to replace both items for $120.00 which I went forward with.
There was no pressure and I could see the problems.

CALLED DOOR DOCTOR ON JAN 20th..got a real human. Was able to come out that same day. I advised the following day would be better; he gave me a time window and said I would get a call when about 30 minutes out. 
Adam called the next day to say he was on the way as promised.
He was not entirely sure if the problem was sensor related or with the circuit board. We checked the age of the motor and I opted to go with a complete replacement utilizing an Angies deal.
 Adam seemed genuinely honest with respect to the pros and cons of  two repair approaches as well as whether to go with a belt or chain drive. There was no up-selling, no pressure,
The job was completed in just under an hour..all old parts were removed.
Efficient, professional and friendly. So far, very satisfied..a positive experience.

I had my two toddlers with me on that day at home with me. He was so patience during his visit and even try to explain things for me. He made that service a very pleasant and professional one.

Adam the tech, was awesome, called half hour before arriving on time. Professional, explained what he was going to do and preform perfectly. I would request Adam if I'm going to need their services again.
