contacted them to trim 9 trees, different varieties. They gave us great prices and were very considerate when we needed to reschedule. Excellent work and took care of all the clean up.

I have used this company for several years and my usual cost was roughly $500 for the 5 trees I need trimmed. I saw the Angie's List Big Deal for $500 of service for $250. I am always skeptical that a deal means a higher original price then the discount applied. But they quoted me the same rate, so with my discount, I got half off. Fantastic! They are on time and professional and do a beautiful job trimming the trees so they withstand the monsoons, but don't look "trimmed", just naturally shaped and thinned. I will used them again and recommend them again, as I have many times.

I used a coupon to get an appraisal of work needed. They found a lot I hadn't thought of for repairing irrigation and maintaining landscaping. Work was done quickly and left premises very neat. This is a large company and there was a little miscommunication on their end as to what was being done, but when I corrected that everything went well.

Again, they do good work, and the price that they estimated was good. But to try and get another $90 afterwards was unprofessional.

We purchased a Tree Trimming package from Design Tree Maintenance. The package was $500.00 of service for $250.00. The overall bill seemed high, but we did purchase 2 trees (24" containers) which included the removal of 2 medium size Sissoo trees and planting 2 new trees in their place. The Sissoo trees were removed as they were planted too close to our block wall fence, which would have eventually damaged the fence. Next, the workers climbed up into our 2 large Sissoo trees located in our front yard. They cut out a considerable amount of limbs, plus additional trimming. Our yard now has a more open feeling plus our lawn will get more sun, which has been a problem for some time. The workers arrived as scheduled and worked very hard at removing our old trees, and planting the new ones. They look very nice. We were told they are under Warranty for 1 year, should anything happen to them. Our yard , sidewalk, driveway and street were cleaned up once all the work was complete. We would not hesitate to use Design Tree Maintenance again for our trees. They also take care of lawns.

Design Tree Maintenance did a good job putting in the system. We had a hard time getting them come back out and showing us how to work the system so we weren't too happy about that part. Other than that, they did a good job.

Called them out in response to $59 Angie List deal to review our watering system because it was not working in one area. They gave us an estimate for over $8,500 to upgrade and re-do the entire system including our trees, fertilizing citrus trees. Negotiated to have the essential things done including watering the lawn, the trees, a new controller box and plant a tree. We pretty much paid $59 for what should have been a free estimate and then got sub par work. How it went: - Cut a water line to spigot and left water gushing. Fortunately, we noticed it when our toilet wouldn?t flush due to low pressure and they were about to leave for the day. Had we not noticed the problem they would have left with one worker knowing about it. When he was asked about it he said ?I told you about it.? to the supervisor. Because the pressure had been so low for so long the low volume pressurized toilet valve was broken and it took 3 weeks for them to get it fixed. - Only laid irrigation lines to cover a portion of lawn, not the new portion that had no irrigation, which was the whole reason we called them to start with. When they came back out instead of routing the line properly they just adjusted the heads to cover the area. This waters some unintended areas. - Left sprinkle heads several inches above ground so mowing would cut them off. They came back and buried them properly. - Left no tools or information on how to adjust the heads. - Leak in front line sprayed driveway. We wouldn?t have known about this except that they had AM and PM mixed up on the controller and we found the whole driveway covered with water. - Came out twice to set up the new controller to water properly. Both times it wasn?t. Finally figured it out and did it myself. They had never input an on time for one station even though they told me they checked it out completely and it all worked correctly. - Drip nozzles not directed properly, some were as far as a foot away and pointing away from the shrub they were to be watering. - What sales rep sold was not delivered. Had to tell crew what was expected several times. Had to call sales rep at least twice to resolve issues, the last time he said he would give us a free fertilization of our front yard trees. When we asked the supervisor about it he said it had already been done, when I tried to explain that it was something we were just told would be done he was insistent that it was already done. I did not continue since I was getting nowhere and no one ever came out that we are aware of. This company has no quality control or follow up.

They are very good. We use them for the really big trees. They make sure the trees are healthy and in good growing shape. We have had them come six to eight times over the years. They are good at what they do. They come when they say they are going to come. They clean up when they're done. Everything is good except their pricing.

Tree trimming was fine. On their way out of the yard, my wife saw the workmen loading up their T-shirts with the fruit of my tangelo tree. They took almost half the crop without asking. I'm not having this bunch back. Too many quality services in this business to put up with this crap.

I bought two different 'big deals'; one for deep root fertilization and one for sprinkler system evaluation/set. I ended up getting more done so it was nice to have the discount. The arborist was very knowledgeable and helpful in determining which trees to fertilize based on my budget. On the second visit, a different guy came out who was equally knowlegdeable and easily resolved an ongoing issue I'd been having with one of my sprinkler valves. He showed me how to fix it myself should it occur again. He recommended installing soaker lines and mulch wells for my queen palms to address my concerns about how stressed out they looked. It has really helped! Two months since the work was done and the trees are really showing signs of improvement. Within hours of purchasing each 'big deal', the company contacted me to schedule and appointment. Wow! So the process is, someone comes out to evaluate, and then the work gets done another day, so I had 4 encounters. Just about everyone was 15-30 past the end time of their appt range. For example, if they say between 10 and noon; they would call at noon and say they'd be here ~12:30. At least they called, I'll give 'em that. Just don't sit around thinking they'll be there any minute early on is all I'm saying. I'm extremely happy with their service and the quality of their work.

I am very pleased with the estimate and service.

Very frustrating to wait 3 days for service & not get it

By 4/11 in the late afternoon, we had to contact the office to get a date and time for the repairs. No one from their office contacted us. We were originally scheduled for the repairs on 4/19 - 9 days after our original service. The grass in some areas hadn't been watered since the original visit on 4/10 since the water leaks in these areas were fairly severe and we were disappointed to have a repair date so far out. We received a call on Monday 4/16, asking if we would be willing to reschedule to Tuesday afternoon. An hour after they were supposed to be at the house on Tuesday, we called the office again, and they rescheduled again to between 10 am and 1 pm on Wednesday (4/18). They finally made it to our house around 1:30. The work took them 4 hours, as they found some additional items wrong, and fixed them for no extra charge (a hidden leak along one of the irrigation lines. When they did get there, they replaced the sprinkler heads, fixed 3 or 4 leakage spots due to broken pipe, and blew out the bubbler line. They were going to leave the sprinkler heads way above grass-mowing level until they were told to adjust them lower. We were satisfied with the work overall, once they showed up to perform it. When a company reschedules like this, it gives the appearance of disorganization.

He called in advance to confirm the date and time, called on his way to make sure we knew when he'd be there, and showed up on time. His inspection of the property irrigation took approximately 20 minutes total to run each zone and examine our system. He made recommendations for what our system needs, wrote an estimate for the work and is getting the next step scheduled.

They had a 15% off coupon so decided to get an estimate. Arborist was prompt and professional and estimate was free. Decided to go with them for service. Crews showed up within 15 min. of stated time, and they give you a call the day before to let you know when crew will arrive. They do not complete the job in one session, however. For example, the tree was removed on a Monday but the stump grinding and tree fertilization were done on two separate days the following week. They did an awesome job of cleanup, even cleaning up droppings from the tree that they did not cause during the cutting and going over to my neighbors property and cleaning up what had dropped on their side of the fence. After the stump was ground out, they covered the spot so well that I can't even tell that the tree was ever there. The deep root fertilization was a little pricey, I thought. $575 for 6 trees. I would probably skip that next time, but for tree removal they were great. At my previous home, I had a mesquite tree removed and ground out by another company and it cost $500 ( versus $350 for this tree) and they must not have gotten the whole root because it soon grew back as a big ugly bush. I don't think I will have this problem with this company. Nice job and very professional.

We discovered mistletoe on two of our Sweet Acacia trees. After assessment, the Arborist recommended a **treatment (fungisol) for us to administer and instructed how to apply the treatment for each tree. He also recommended where to purchase the fungisol locally. **Fungisol cannot be administered by an arborist without proper certification.** The Design Tree Maintenance technician came out immediately to removed the mistletoe from the affected trees, and examined the rest of our trees for any signs of mistletoe developing. Beginning January 2011, we have used Design Tree Maintenance two other times for pruning, crowning, and borer treatments. We will continue to depend on their expertise to help us maintain the health and proper maintenance of our trees.

We got a bid within a day from an arborist with Design Tree Maintenance. His bid was lower than the other bid we received for the work. He was articulate, knowledgeable and answered my questions. He emailed me the bid, as well as the insurance information for the company that I requested the same day. The company requested 25% down to do the work, and if you wanted to use a credit card you had to call it in over the phone. I called the down payment in over the phone the next day. I was on hold for 10 minutes which seemed long. I requested a receipt via email, and called again on Monday since I had not received the receipt by then. I was told that I would receive the receipt on Monday. I actually received the receipt on Tuesday and it was a corrupted file which would not open. I called the arborist directly on Tuesday not wanting to be placed on hold again and he did promptly email me the receipt. There were some issues with scheduling the service - first it was one day and then another. A couple days before the work, they had initially indicated the work would occur in the morning, but they called the night before and indicated and it would be in the afternoon. They were very efficient in actually performing the work, and cleaned everything up. Another crew removed the stump a couple days later as they had indicated would happen. Overall I am happy with the work, and the price was very good, so I would probably use them again for a large project. However, I would probably not use them for routine work or smaller jobs given that they were difficult to deal with on the administrative end of things and it seemed like poor service to charge $325 on a credit card and to not be able to provide a receipt via email within 5 days. When I asked if they could bring the receipt for downpayment on date of work being performed , they also indicated that they would have one I could look at but they wouldn't be able to give me one. This all seemed odd to me.

We were very happy with the consultation process, and quality of work. Nick Thiel was the Arborist who met with us first. He addressed the pruning and nutrient needs for proper health and shape of the trees, and educated us on it all (we are new to the desert). The crew who showed up to conduct the work, verified with us what was going to be done, and executed it all as planned. They did an excellent job with clean up, too! We love that the Arborists are certified-and that Trees are what they do. We will definitely use DTM going forward, and will keep our landscape service focused on what they do best...the landscape.

Punctual and very efficient work and excellent post cleanup. I did have to add more support to the the new tree since the top was drooping but their example was easy to follow. This is the second time I have used this company and unlike other companies I have used, they do stay in business.

Excellent work on the California Palm. Climbed approx 30 feet and trimmed as expected. Desert Willow in the front yard was lifted and pruned. I had to direct some of the work since they were not sure of the work needing to be done. I think the instructions from the estimator (who was not there) wasn't clear. Disappointed that the person who was trimming the tree tore off some smaller branches instead of using correct pruning tools and in some cases used the rough saw which was used on the palm resulting in jagged edges at the pruning cuts. Bird of Paradise in the back yard was poorly trimmed. Again, instructions from the estimator should have been more thorough since the workers didn't understand what needed to be done. All of the time that the estimator and I had spent going over the details earlier was wasted. I had to re-trim the tree myself. Overall, I think these guys were in a hurry and rushed through the work. They gave the impression that they were just another "blow and go" company. Work was on the pricey side but glad I was able to get the service when I wanted to because of the danger of climbing the palm myself.

They are professional, responsive and punctual. The quality of their work is good and I have been satisfied with their service.

This is the second time we used this company. The actual work performed was excellent. They are thorough, efficient and clean up everything. However, not all work was performed as scheduled, requiring a second visit. Twice, calls were not returned. The work is good, but communications need to improve.

The workers form Design Tree are experts at what they do. I have been using them for a while. They remember me and they are personable. I never have to worry about their punctuality. I can be sure that everything will be beautiful when I come home. I will continue to use them.

They pruned two trees in my front yard and they did a very nice job on them.

Crew arrived early and got right to work. Crew leader very polite and efficient. They were very quick about thier work and had plenty of workers to get the job done. All work was complete and yard cleaned of debris within 2 hours.
