He was very pleasant and professional and explained what I needed but his price was higher than what I had budgeted.

That came out to an expensive deal. They recommended a few things that were quite positive but the costs were so high that it came up to some few hundred dollars. They came out a few weeks later after I called them and he came out promptly as scheduled.

A 20 foot tree in our front yard had started to lean in a way that falling was inevitable and would possibly take out our saguaro cactus in the process. Week to week the change in lean angle was noticeable. I asked several neighbors and one had experience with "Design Tree Maintenance" so I searched for them on Angie's List and they had multiple positive reviews AND a coupon for free stump removal. DTM responded quickly to remove the tree before heavy rains hit our area and came back a couple weeks later to grind the stump to below grade level. I am pleased that Angie's List was able to validate my neighbor's referral and DTM offered an incentive to chose them with the free grind coupon on Angie's List.

My husband had just died in February and I felt I needed help to keep my landscaping from doing the same. Salesman Nick Thiel sold me what he believed was the solution. i have since learned it's not necessary to lay lines to MATURE DESERT TREES. Now several of those lines sre leaking and i have had to hire someone to fix it. A time or two DTM's field rep Leon was helpful. But don't believe I would have needed to have lines run to very mature desert trees.

Other than the stump grinding, everything was very prompt. They came with a crew. They came at the time they said would come.

The workers arrived promptly as scheduled, the office called to confirm the day before, crew sought my approval on their work at several intervals, they took away all of the debris replaced items that had been moved during their operation and left the yard in as good, if not better, condition that when they arrived.

It went just fine. I have been using them for several years. They did a great job like they have always done. They thinned the trees out so they stand up during the monsoons. When the trees are done it still looks perfectly natural and has nice shape with bird holes. Once they have been there, it does not look like someone has been there chopping my trees. They are not the cheapest, but I think the best value.

Both projects went very well. The trees were not only trimmed but the fruit in the top branches that I was unable to reach were 'harvested' for me. I have an old watering system that continues to work quite well. I was very appreciative of the fact that they did not suggest the need to buy a new one from them since my old one was working. Rather they were willing to add additional sprinklers where necessary on to my old system. i now have four four water each of my fruit trees and two on my smaller palm trees. They even put my potted plants into the watering system. I will have them come again to feed my trees.

Due to the nature of the incident, we wanted the work done as soon as possible, as the somewhat heavy mesquite tree was laying in our driveway. The company was able to come out quickly on short notice and give us a recommendation. They told us that we could either have the tree stood back up and re-staked (it was about a year old, but grew very quickly), but that we were likely to have root issues in the future, and that it was recommended to replace the tree. Without any second opinions, we decided to replace the tree. They replaced the tree with a palo verde, and they did a high quality job on replacement. Approximately a year after the service, the company followed up with us and offered to inspect the tree to see if it was healthy, and see if anything else needed done. As this was no cost, we had them come out and take a look. They said everything looked good, but that they wanted to trim both trees in our front yard for nearly $400. As I had trimmed our trees just days earlier, this service was not needed, and we declined.

I've used Design Tree several times and have always received great service. Trees are always trimmed per instructions and my yard is cleaned up nicely after.

Sprinkler heads replaced/adjusted. Coverage was better after this job but not what was promised. I waited 6-8 weeks as I recall to see what areas turned brown and were therefore not being covered, and then called them to come back. They returned, made some adjustments. Still not what was anticipated. I haven't dealt with them since, and have had someone else help me do the work myself. NOTE: I guessed at the date and the amount spent, required above on this form. It was done sometime last summer and I paid whatever the big deal price was; I don't remember now if I paid for anything extra.

I was very impressed with this company. After they completed their work they had me inspect and I told them it all looked great. Then a couple weeks later I finally got out to do some yard work and realized that the bougainvilla had about 1 foot of dead branches. I had assumed that they had trimmed off the dead limbs, but once the green started growing it was obivious that 1 foot of it still needed to be trimmed back. I called them and left a message asking if they could trim it down to the green part and they sent someone over to finish it up free of charge. I was impressed that they were willing to do this as I had told them on the original day of work that everything looked good, but didn't realize until later that the bougainvilla really need to be cut down a little more. I have used this company many times for tree trimming and they always do a great job. Thanks Design Tree!

Design Tree Maintenance came in, pulled the three dead palms out, dug up the roots, hauled everything out and cleaned up. They were meticulous about the clean-up. I was very impressed!

Extremely satisfied with the work performed. Would use them again.

This is the second year they have come out. Ben came and did a walk through both times to look at the trees and discuss and issues. I have seen improvement in the overall health and look of my trees. They are prompt and courteous and did everything they said they would. While it may seem expensive, I believe it is worth it.

My experience with them went badly. They didn't do what they were supposed to do. They just sent out a salesman who gave a sales pitch for an outrageous amount. The man came in slacks and it was clear that he wasn't going to get dirty or touch anything and he didn't. I asked him if he was going to do what was listed. He didn't intend on doing anything that the big deal encompassed and only really went through the motions and did half of it or whatever. Then he made a pitch for putting in the most deluxe sprinkler system for like $8000 or $9000. It is for like a small backyard. It was a terrible experience where I paid to have a salesperson come out who wasn't even going to come close to giving me a reasonable deal. As he was walking out he saw our citrus trees and he said we had such and such fungus on it and that they would throw that in for another $900 and the tree was fine. It was just outrageous. I am paying Angie's List to get these deals and all they are doing is sending salespeople out where I can just call people up and get a free estimate. I don't think anyone should deal with them. They were out to gouge me. I was ripped off for what I paid for the Big Deal, but they wanted to rip me off for a lot more. I didn't get the service I paid for. They agreed to do work and didn't do anything. This is a company people shouldn't do business with. I would not recommend them at all.

We waited 2 weeks for a crew to come to our house to complete the quoted work. Design Tree Maintenance called us the day before the appointment to confirm. The crew did not show up (March 26th, 2013). We were called after the scheduled time to say they were not coming and we were rescheduled for 2 days later (March 28th). The day before the second scheduled appointment, Design Tree Maintenance called to confirm the next day's work. Again the crew did not show up as promised and again we were called after the scheduled time only to be told they would not be coming. They rescheduled us for the next day. On the third scheduled appointment day the crew did not shot up again. When I called to ask if they were coming, I was told that our house was not on the schedule after all. We canceled the work after the third failure.

We purchased a new home last summer and all the trees on the property needed thinned and shaped up. Nick, the arborist, came out and gave us estimates on trimming 3 big Sissoo trees in the backyard and 2 Chinese Elm trees in the front yard. Nick is very knowledge. In addition to identifying the trees for us, he gave us very useful information in regard to the care and watering of the trees. After accepting what we thought was a fair price, we scheduled a date for the crew to come out and do the trimming. The 3 Sissoo in the backyard were thinned, a little more than I would have liked but it was probably necessary to get out all the dead wood. We were disappointed that they cut off several lower branches that where helping to give us privacy from the 2 story houses behind us. The two Chinese Elm in the front were very thick and needed thinned badly. One tree was quite a bit bigger than the other. The larger of the two trees was thinned and trimmed appropriately. The smaller of the two trees was pruned into a small umbrella shape. They probably cut off 2/3's the length of all limbs making it look even smaller than it already did. I was not home at the time of the trimming and was very upset when I saw the tree. It looks ridiculous. I am a firm believer of letting shrubs look like shrubs and trees look like tress. This small Chinese Elm now looks like an umbrella. I called Nick immediately. He came out within a couple days to look at it and agreed that it was not trimmed properly. He offered to have the crew come back out and do additional trimming on the other Chinese Elm to get them more closely to the same size or to do a complimentary fertilization on the butchered tree to help it recover. Since I had already decided this company would never touch one of my trees again, I asked for a refund of $100 for the cost of trimming that tree. Nick readily agreed to the refund. A month ago I had another tree company come out to give us estimates on fertilization of the trees. That arborist asked me what had happened to that small Chinese Elm!!! I will not use Design Tree Maintenance again. Although Nick is very knowledgeable and helpful, I feel the crew is either not properly trained on tree trimming or just doesn't care.

No problems; just a little too expensive to use in the future.

Design Tree Maintenance was easy to schedule an appointment with. They gave me an estimate for the work I wanted done. They arrived when they said they would and did all of the work requested properly. I was very impressed with the clean up, having used other companies before that left a lot of debris in my pool.

Gave honest appraisal of system.

They did a very nice job. I liked the man that came out and estimated. They cleaned it all up.

They arrived in a timely manner and were friendly and knowledgeable. The work was completed to my satisfaction and I asked them to come out to replace and move some sprinkler heads. I was unable to get ahold of anyone, left messages but did not get a response for about 2 weeks. By that time I had hired someone else to do the work. It may have been my location, some companies don't like driving all the way out to Apache Junction.

Overall they were very responsive and i will use them again this year for my home and two investment properties.

Worked with Nick to come up with a good plan for service on the house we just moved into. He did a good job of working with us to come up with a plan that was both cost-effective and was sufficient in terms of care for the extensive landscaping for the home. Design Tree isn't the cheapest around, but they do good work. Be sure to take the time to talk to the arborist/team leader during the initial consultation, as part of what you are paying for with them is the expertise. In our experience with Design Tree, they have always done a good job with not only the actual work when they are there, but they take the time to tell us how to properly care for our plants & trees in the interim, so you und up with a good, comprehensive plan for keeing your trees and plants healthy and looking good. We've used them before and we'll use them again in the future.
