I asked to install outdoor lights for the backyard. When I had called to make the appointment, and asked what I needed to get, I was told by the person who set up the appointment that I would need to get the light fixture, transformer and switch. When I asked what kind of wiring I needed to get, she said the electrician would supply the wire. It was later confirmed that a transformer was not needed as these were not landscaping lights but we're flood lights. So I got the light fixture, bulbs, switch and wall plate. Miguel came out at the exact appointment time and date and reviewed the requirements for the job and said that he could not install an inside switch in the vicinity of the outdoor fixture and that he would need to take the wire across the attic to a distant area for the switch. and estimated that it would cost me $125 extra for the wiring. I was not prepared for this extra cost. So I declined to have the service done. If I had been told ahead of time that I would have to supply the wiring, I would have. Miguel was very pleasant and polite and apologized for the mixup regarding the wiring. This experience taught me not to buy any deal without an estimate first even if it is from. I am asking Angie's List for my money back.

Lance arrived promptly as scheduled and once I'd explained the work I wanted to do, he immediately got to work. He worked cleanly and efficiently and was able to remove the existing light in the kitchen, install a 6 lamp track light in the kitchen and installed a new chandelier in my dining room. Lance also installed a can light conversion kit and installed a new pendant light over my sink. I am very impressed with Lance's skills and work ethic and I will DEFINITELY contact Desert Mountain Electric for all future electrical needs. Kudos to Lance for a job well done!

To be fair, I will say this company does adequate work, but this was not a pleasant experience. I used this company before and gave them a rave review, so my expectations were high. The electrician they sent a year ago was friendly and helpful and able to complete several projects without "going shopping" for parts. I was extremely pleased. Not so this time. First, I was told they would be there between 9:00 am and 11:00 am, which through my misunderstanding I thought meant they would do the work between those 2 hours since I had purchased a 2-hour deal. So I was up and ready by 9:00 a.m. Then (after I called) I found out that 9-11 was a "window" and they would not be arriving until closer to the 11:00 am part of the window, which I accepted as I obviously misunderstood. But in fact, the electrician did not arrive until 11:45 am, and I was only notified it would be that late after I called the office again to find out what was going on. So I was pretty stressed by the time they finally got there and also had to change my afternoon plans. Lance arrived and fixed one problem within 2 minutes, which was great (I stupidly did not realize I had to reset the GFI outlet in bathroom which was affecting an entirely different bathroom.) Anyway, that left an hour and 58 minutes to complete the few other projects I had in mind. We discussed them for about 5 minutes and Lance then left to get the few basic parts needed. I told him there was a Lowes 2 minutes from my house (you could actually walk there in 5) and assumed he was going there. He was gone 45 minutes (which time was taken from my 2 hours). I assumed he had gone to lunch as it was after 12:30 by the time he returned - he said there was a long line to check out, which I found hard to believe as Lowes is very fast. I did not find out until he was ready to leave my house that he had gone to Home Depot instead because the company has an account there. I could have easily gone to Lowes with him and purchased the items myself (which would have been preferable since I did not see any store receipts from Home Depot and do not know what the items actually cost) and saved 30 minutes had I known this was the case (plus I wouldn't have been stressing out waiting for him to come back, wondering if he was returning at all). I don't really blame him as I assume it's a company policy. Bottom line, if you decide to use this company: (1) do not rely on the arrival time they give you, and (2) be warned that if they need to go shopping for parts, that shopping time will be charged to you, so you might want to get your own parts ahead of time if you know what you need.

Purchased a $99.00 promotion for 2 hours of electrical work. I originally had requested this company install an outdoor electrical outlet and a spotlight. The electrician showed up at 7:20AM, spent 10-15 minutes on the phone and left at 8:50AM. In addition, he did not show up with the any parts and had to run to the store which took 20 minutes. In total, the electrician completed only 30 minutes of actual electrical work. Lastly, when I asked the electrician if he was going to install the spotlight, he said he had another appointment to go to and that he would send me a quote for the additional work. When I received his quote, I nearly fell out of my chair - 3 hours of work at $89 per hour for a total $267 - ridiculous!!

Lance called to let me know he was on his way. He was prompt, professional and the work was done over and above my expectations. Am extremely happy with the services!!

They told me they wouldn't charge anymore than the Angie's List price and they were out here for 15 minutes and charged me $99 so I thought they would come out as a courtesy and that one I wasn't too terribly happy about because I could've at least contacted you and got a little bit of a discount and I think it was $99 for two hours of electric service but they were only here for a few minutes. I would have gone through Angie's List and do that if courtesy because I was a little disenchanted with this.

I contacted Desert Mountain Electric for service. After speaking with the service provider they told me that I was not within their service area and that they had chosen not to the work based based on gas. I found the lady whom I spoke with to be unprofessional in her explaining lacking in reason. I contacted Angie's List about this issue and feel I have wasted so much time with this now. I have been in business for 20 years and I found they way they handled this transaction to be unacceptable. I expected them to handle their advertising professionally and do not expect to pay for something and get nothing. No one has time to waste on situations like this.

It was fine. There were no additional charges.

Great job in all respects. Electrician was very experienced and individually licensed (in addition to the contractor being licensed). Highly recommend this firm for your installation and repair needs.

It turned out okay. There was a small issue with the ceiling fan. He did get it fixed. Before doing that, he started explaining things that he shouldn't have and taking several calls during his time here. He seemed to be frazzled when he got here and he was taking several calls. He had several things going on I think.

He arrived promptly and worked very fast, and was able to do all the installations within the 2 hour time frame I had prepurchased.

Everything went great. I have used Desert Mountain before and have always been satisfied with their service.

The electrician called before coming and arrived on time. We discussed what I wanted done to add a light switch to an existing recessed fixture, which would involve cutting holes in drywall to pass wire through. The cuts were minimal and the electrician was careful to replace the cut squares back in each hole, secured with screws, to make it easier for a drywaller to patch. I also had a problem with a landscape lighting controller which was diagnosed quickly and replaced on a second visit.

This was a $99 big deal purchase and it was okay. It was nothing major. They could have given me a follow up call to see how it went, but they did not do that. That would have been a better thing to do because I was a new client.

John was prompt and made really good use of his time. We purchased a $99 coupon for 2 hours of electrical service and he completed all the tasks requested in the allotted time. The additional charges were for the 2 Lutron dimmer switches and the waterproof cover plate for our fountain which I thought were very fair charges. After some less than satisfactory results from the electrician brought in by our kitchen renovation contractor, it was so nice to have a true professional on the job. Candace in the office was extremely helpful as well. We'll use Desert Mountain Electric again. Thank you!!

First off, let me say that most of the time I am reluctant to trust review sites, but in this case I am SO glad that I did. After my home warranty denied fixing the electrical work that caused a fire, I ventured to Angie's List to find a reputable electrician. I stumbled upon Desert Mountain Electric, LLC yesterday & decided to give them a call. The owner, Jay Clark personally came out within hours to conduct the estimate. After speaking to him, about the work & the reasonable price, I decided proceed with them to complete the work. Today, Tripp was the electrician who worked on our house. He was very friendly & prompt. He explained what he did, and also showed me which breakers didn't have wiring. I won't fault him for being a Cowboys fan though. Should me house or anyone I know need an electrician, I'll be sure to recommend Desert Mountain Electric, LLC. Thank you SO much!!!
