Desert lifestyles defied to stop work orders and came to the job five times against a shut down order did not follow Maricopa county environmental control rules which they were warned on the first shut down and proceeded to excavate on four occasions without a building permit.

When dealing with so many subcontractors a lot of things are out of your hands. David kept us informed and was very pleasant to work with, we could not be more pleased with our backyard and experience, we highly recommend!

We just bought a new house with a pool.  We knew going in that the pool needed to be replastered.  The company that the sellers received the bid from was not licensed and bonded which made us nervous.  We needed a new bid before we could close on the house and called David because a friend of the family had used him and highly recommended him.  David responded very quickly and my husband liked his initial interaction with him.  We moved in on a Thursday and they were out the following Wednesday (like scheduled) to chip out the old plaster.  They had us scheduled to repair the pop ups and replaster the following Wednesday or Thursday.  The Wednesday was raining from about 8am to noon, then was clear and Thurday was clear.  No workers showed up or called either day.  My husband contacted David on Sunday (still no call) and was told they would be out Wednesday or Thursday.  Wednesday and Thursday came and went and still no workers and no phone call.  My husband then called on Friday and was told that they were running two to three weeks behind schedule and that it would be ANOTHER two to three weeks before they could come out and finish.  Keep in mind that he had been paid half of the money UP FRONT by the sellers.  We ended up getting a partial refund from David and will be looking to go with another company.
Response from Desert Lifestyles Pools
"Partial payment? I gave you all of your money back for work that wasn't done the same day that you guys asked for it back...within 1 hr of asking for it. I scheduled you guys for plaster, and my plaster guys were backed up. There wasn't much I could do in getting them to your house to plaster quicker. This was in May and is the busiest time for plastering. I gave your husband the remaining balance of the money from the contract. I don't appreciate that you said I gave you a partial amount of the money back. That is untrue, and I'd appreciate it if you'd recant that fact. And by the way, did the pool get finished? Which licensed contractor finished the job? Thanks David Campbell"
