What stood out to me about them is their communication. They did a great job with our pets. They communicated very well and they were timely. They were very friendly. They were referred by a friend.

Desert dog did a great job from step #1. Answered all of my questions in a timely manner, was professional, reliable and friendly. While I was away they arrived on time to walk my dog, and even texted me pictures of him! Much better than dealing with kennels or pet hotels! WOuld hire them again!

1. Customer Service
The flexibility and follow up has been terrific. We have a somewhat unpredictable schedule, so I really appreciate the fact that Virginia has been easy to work with when our needs change, sometimes at the last minute. Also, I really appreciate the reminder emails to firm up schedules and dates.
2. Service Provided
My dog is older with medical issues, she does SO much better when she can stay in her own home. Lisa, the sitter that watched Honey for us, texted us with updates about Honey and pictures. She was obviously much happier than being in a kennel.
3. Security
I felt very secure having Desert Dog come into my home. They are caring and professional. The communication was excellent and gave me peace of mind while I was away.

We have been using Desert Dog for house visits and pet supply deliveries for over 2 years. No issues. We completely trust our pets and home with Virginia and Brock Nelson. Our overall experience has been excellent and our lifestyle would be crimped if it wasn't for Desert Dog! We travel a lot - planned and last minute weekend trips as well as extended 10+ day vacations - and finding someone to stop by the house to feed our cats, scoop the litter box, and clean up after them is NEVER an issue. Great service. Local people. They really do care about you and your pets.
Pet Home Care - We call or email Desert Dog in advance of our trip letting them know the days and time of day (range) we'd like them to visit. They come by and feed, pay attention and clean up after our 2 cats (food, meds, puke, litter etc.). Brock and Virginia have always accommodated us within reason, just ask. Our 2 cats are old and have some issues, so boarding is not idea because it stresses all of us out and is much more expensive than using Desert Dog. We leave food, medicine and a note for them on our kitchen counter... then lock the door knowing our pets and house are in good hands. We receive daily text and picture messages (sometime videos!) from Desert Dog letting us know all is well. They also bring in our mail when we're away and having someone stop by when we're away provides a little extra security / piece of mind. Desert Dog's prices are very reasonable in comparison to boarding on a per pet basis and the service is very reliable, stress free and COMPLETELY WORTH IT. Billing is made easy through PayPal - they email us an invoice then click a link to PayPal for payment - or we've paid by check.
Food Delivery - We haven't schlepped to a pet supply store in over a year! We order food, treats and 40 pound bags of cat litter by phone or email in advance and then Brock or Virginia deliver to our porch or put everything in our house when they're in our neighborhood or when scheduled. They've helped us out with small deliveries in a pinch or larger bi-weekly orders. Desert Dog's supply prices are in line with retail prices found throughout the Valley and there's no aggravation. Tell them the brand you want and they'll do their best to make it happen.

Went very well overall, were concerned about being away from the house, and having our home being vacant and our pup left alone. Virginia came to our house and did an introduction and reviewed our house and what we needed done, and discussed all the details up front. Very personal and made us feel more comfortable meeting her.
Virginia gave us updates while we were out of town, and even went the extra mile sending us pics of Molly while we were away.
Very professional people, very well run business, and good communication, important in this line of work.
Would recommend them to family and friends.

They've been excellent to work with. They've been dependable, reliable, and trustworthy, even having a key to my home. They charge what they say they will and will do just about anything! They expand to their customer's needs.

Their services were fantastic each time! I really enjoyed getting text message and picture updates while I was traveling.
