Culligan installed the REBUILT softener. The softener failed 3 DAYS after being installed producing a HUGE amount of carbon/resin in my home. I contacted Shawn from Culligan and he advised me to contact a plumber because he could not take my word for it. The plumber bill was $2,000 and Shawn REFUSES to assume ANY LIABILITY!!!!! He is super un-reasonable and believes that the customer is ALWAYS WRONG, not Culligan. We have spent countless hours on the phone hoping he would do the right thing and reimburse us for the damage that HIS REBUILT softener had caused. NOT A GOOD COMPANY!!!!!!!

Signed up for soft water earlier this year. On Friday Oct. 5 I discovered the soft water tank leaking in my garage. I immediately called Culligan and they said the soonest they could get out was Tuesday Oct. 9 and I should shut off the machine. On Tuesday, Culligan did not show in the time frame they said and did not call. Later that day I called them and a on-call worker came out in the evening to look at the machine and after about an hour said he fixed it. I was told to wait 2 to 3 hours and no more water would be leaking out. However, water was still coming out on the floor. I waited to see if it would stop until the morning but it did not. I shut off the machine again. I called them again and the person I spoke with said he could not come out then but would set up someone coming out between 2 and 4 the next day (Friday Oct. 12). Once again no one showed. I called Culligan again and they told me that their workers can not make appointments. I asked when they could come out and fix it. They said Tuesday (Oct. 16). Meanwhile even with the valve shut off, it is still leaking and the wood frame around the Garage Door is cracking and the paint is peeling. The manager made no attempt to give any help so I told them that on Tuesday just take the equipment out. I will find another company to provide soft water. Overpriced and very poor customer service. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for soft water.

Overall good but they would not itemize the quote or resisted putting anything in writing. It may just be the sales person because the rest of the purchase and installation was fine.

I think Culligan is fantastic. Specifically, if you get to work with Tim Shanahan as your rep you are in luck because he is the best! I purchased my home 1.5 years ago and the Culligan water softener was installed, I took over the monthly lease from the prior owner. Tim came to my home and explained the system to me and how to test and operate the system. He helped set me up with salt delivery and talked about the options for buying the unit outright. 12 months in, I called Tim and said I wanted to purchase the unit and do away with the monthly lease. Tim arranged for the team to come out and do a "re-build" of the unit so it was good as new (It had been installed in 2008). Recently, I had my garage floor coated with a decorative epoxy which required the unit to be removed for a few days. Is that a issue with Culligan? NO WAY! Tim my ever able sales guy, came to my home, unhooked the unit and moved it out of the garage for me and returned a few days later to re-install it. He also went above and beyond by helping to customize a piece of tile to sit under the softener. (He took it home and worked on it). I just cannot say enough good things about Tim and Culligan! BTW, the softener works great and has for years! Good job Tim and team!

Because we moved, I cancelled my service and returned all of the equipment (water cooler, 6 empty and 2 full unused 5 gallon water bottles) to the warehouse in Phoenix on Tuesday 12/02/14.  When I called their office today to make sure they credited my account the $10.00 for the returned, unused product, I was told the Health Department does not allow them to take back unused bottled water.  So, I called the Maricopa County Health Department who referred me to the Department of Environmental Resources.  They informed me that this was untrue, and there is no regulation, rule or ordinance that prevents any company from taking back and re-selling unused bottled water.  I would exercise great caution when electing to do business with a company who knowingly and purposefully makes misleading statements to their customers in order to save $10.00.  I'll never use them again!

They're great. He also put on the date of the install water sensor, like shut off sensor. I didn't know I was getting that until he showed up, I said, what do you know? They put one on the kitchen and on the garage.

We have a Culligan water softening system
installed in our garage. Recently, on a
Friday afternoon, we noticed that the water flow throughout the house had
reduced to a trickle. We were not sure
why. Possibilities included reduced water
flow from our city water supply; malfunction of the water softener; or a clog
in our house pipes.

A plumber happened to be working at the
house on warranty work. He was kind enough to investigate the problem. He
thought that the problem was the water softener. He discussed the situation with our housing
development building supervisor, who agreed with his assessment.

I wasn’t sure what the cause of the problem
was. I called our water utility company.
A couple of days later they tested the water flow and replaced the water meter,
but there was no change in our situation.

I had also called Culligan water. The
Culligan representative told me to turn off the valve controlling the water
flow through the softener – if there was no difference in the water flow through
the house, the problem was not the water softener. I tried turning off the
softener water flow valve and there was no difference in the water flow.

Because I couldn’t locate the cause of the trickling
water flow, I was getting desperate. I
asked Culligan to come to the house and check out the problem. Unfortunately this was Friday afternoon and the
soonest Culligan could come was Tuesday – unless it was possible, by chance, to
schedule an emergency response technician at time-and-a-half pay. We decided to
schedule a Tuesday visit by a maintenance technician (Culligan doesn't service
our area Mondays).

On Tuesday morning I called to make sure
the maintenance technician was coming and found out we WERE NOT on the schedule. I explained our plight of a miniscule water
flow for 4 days and that I thought we had a maintenance visit scheduled for
Tuesday. They did send the maintenance
technician. He reset the water softener
and showed me how to do it in the future.

The resolution of the problem was quite
simple – reset the water softener. I thought that a confluence of circumstances
resulted in an extremely unfortunate and frustrating situation for us – almost
no water for about four days. It was disappointing
that the service call was not scheduled on Friday, as I thought, and that circumstances
made it impractical to obtain service before Tuesday.

THE SALESMAN, MIKE, KNEW HIS PRODUCT AND WAS THOROUGH IN HIS PRESENTATION OF THE EQUIPMENT'S CAPABILITIES. HE WAS NOT AS CLEAR WHEN IT CAME TO EXPLAINING THE DIFFERENT PAYMENT METHODS. AS A RESULT, WE'VE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE BILLINGS AND HAD TO CALL THEIR OFFICE NUMEROUS TIMES THE STRAIGHTEN THINGS OUT. ALTHOUGH THE PRODUCT ITSELF HAD WORKED JUST FINE, THE EXPERIENCE WITH CULLIGAN HAS BEEN FRUSTRATING AND WE LIKELY WOULD NOT CHOOSE TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN IN OUR NEXT HOUSE.

I HAVE NOT BEEN HAPPY. I WAS HAPPY WITH THE SALES PERSON, BUT MY WATER SOFTENER MUCH OF THE TIME DOESN'T WORK. MY ROUTE PERSON WHO DELIVERS THE SALT KEEPS CHANGING. THE UNIT FORMS THIS THING CALLED A SALT BRIDGE AND THE UNIT WON'T WORK. IT HAS BEEN A VERY MIXED EXPERIENCE USING THEM, SOMETIMES THEY ARE RESPONSIVE AND HELP OUT.

WE HAVE BEEN RENTING FROM CULLIGAN SINCE JULY 1999. THEY COME OUT ONCE A YEAR TO SERVICE THE EQUIPMENT. WHEN WE HAVE A PROBLEM, THEY ARE QUICK TO RESPOND AND WILL SEND OUT A TECH TO REPAIR IT.

I PURCHASED A CULLIGAN SYSTEM AND PAID TOP DOLLAR AT THE TIME BECAUSE I THOUGHT THEY WERE THE BEST WATER SYSTEM TO HAVE. WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH CULLIGAN YOU CAN ONLY GET IT SERVICED BY THEIR OWN CULLIGAN PEOPLE AND THE PARTS CAN ONLY BE PURCHASED THROUGH CULLIGAN, COSTING YOU AN ARM AND A LEG. EVERY TIME I NEEDED SERVICE, SUCH AS MY WATER TANK OVERFLOWED IN MY GARAGE AND ATE THROUGH THE CEMENT FLOOR, THEY COULD NOT COME IMMEDIATELY. I WOULD NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM CULLIGAN IN THE FUTURE.

THERE WAS DIFFICULTY SETTING UP THE INSTALLATION DUE TO CULLIGAN NOT RETURNING PHONE CALLS. THE REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM IS WORKING GREAT, BUT THE SOFT WATER SYSTEM IN THE GARAGE HAD A HUGE LEAK THAT DID DAMAGE TO OUR GARAGE. WE HAD A HARD TIME GETTING A SERVICE MAN OUT TO OUR HOME AFTER HOURS EVEN THOUGH IT WAS AN EMERGENCY. ONCE HE GOT HERE HE WAS RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL ABOUT THE SITUATION. CULLIGAN DID PAY FOR THE DAMAGE TO BE REPAIRED, BUT IT TOOK A WHILE TO GET IT TAKEN CARE OF.

THE CULLIGAN REPAIR PERSON WAS VERY PROMPT AND VERY COURTEOUS. HE EXPLAINED, AND SHOWED ME WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY WATER SOFTENER AND MADE SURE THAT I UNDERSTOOD WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE AND WHAT THE COST WOULD BE. HE ALSO, LEFT ALL PARTS THAT HE REPLACED.

INSTALLED WATER SOFTENER IN HOME. NICE SYSTEM, GREAT WARRANTY, AND HOME DELIVERY OF SALT INCLUDED. PRICE WAS HIGH, AND HAD A LITTLE BIT OF ATTITUDE.
