I was with Blue Marlin for 9 years and had little in the form of complaints until a couple of months ago over an issue that they sub-contracted out. They recommended a pool drain/refill.When they came to drain I showed him that there was a lime deposit on the pebble tech .I was told that they could have someone come out and while the pool was empty use a gentle chemical to get it off. The next morning a cleaner came and said he could do the job and it would be much better and cost $ 240. He then using a sandblaster or power washer went to work. After only 15 min and half the pool he said he stopped because the peeble tech was being damaged. I said that he should have told me that before and I would not have done it. I was told he would " pro-rate" the job. I then got a bill from Blue Marlin for the entire cost. I was being charged the complete cost for damage to my pool peeble tech and the lime ring was not removed anyway. I called Blue Marlin and shared my displeasure with the result and the billing. I was told it would be looked into. No responce other than another bill for the complete " JOB". I feel that I was deseived and paid over $ 200 for nothing and job was not done. Maybe Blue Marlin was taked advantage of but to pass it on to a custumer of almost 10 years is not a way to treat a person. If I were only clearly told that the job would turn out this way . If they can treat a customer of 10 yrs this way I can only imagine one with less experience

this company is our full time pool service and we have been using their services for a number of years.
they have service people that do the non-typical weekly service, and we have used them to deal with all kinds of issues that come up in a 19 year old pool.
when we needed a new motor, they gave me options, identified the best motor available and helped with the tax credit filing.

They removed some very stubborn black algae staining and even did some minor plaster touch-up work without charging extra above and beyond the acid wash. The worker was happy to answer questions and educated me on black algae and why it is so difficult. He also offered tips on preventing that kind of problem happening again. Both the worker and the person on the phone who wrote my work orders seemed far more knowledgeable than any of the others I called. Their suggestions made sense and I did not get the impression that they were just trying to sell me something. They are not always the least expensive, but I have used Blue Marlin for other things over the years and have grown to trust them when I need an opinion and/ or service beyond routine maintenance that I can do myself. In a city like Phoenix, there are as many charlatans in this business as there are in the air conditioning business and I have never had cause to be disappointed in their integrity or expertise.

The fix was easier than I had thought; replacement of a switch, and did not have to replace pool light or unit.

I think this company does a great job with my pool. They clean it and service it every time we call. I think their quality of work is great and I found it to be so. I highly recommend them for these qualities. The price is great and is very competitive.

Response was good. Dave did not have the parts for the light so they made a second call out. Dave was honest and very polite. Price seemed okay.

FROM TIME TO TIME, WHEN THERE HAVE BEEN ISSUES RELATED TO PERFORMANCE, THE PROBLEM WAS ADDRESSED QUICKLY AND TO OUR SATISFACTION.
