First off, I have had my 2006 Scion XB since 2009 and (other than batteries, tires, and oil changes) have never taken it into the shop. So, I knew that it was way past due for a lot of services.
What prompted the appointment was that the steering starting going out on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015. I saw that 180 Degrees Automotive was only about 5 minutes from my house and that it had an 'A' rating on Angie's List. So, I called and spoke with Amanda. She was very accommodating and pleasant. After hanging up the phone, I realized that I should ask them to quote me on fixing my rear hatch handle (which broke a few months prior). So, I called them right back and Paul answered. He was equally pleasant to speak with.
When I brought the car in, Paul was at the desk and gave me the quote for the hatch and said that he would call me as soon as they identified the problem with the steering that they would call me. He had also identified a Toyoya dealership that had the hatch part in stock and said that they could get and install it in the same day. The quote was reasonable. So, I told them to go ahead and make that repair as well.
A couple of hours later, Paul called me to give me a quote on the steering repairs that was far lower than I expected. Since I clearly don't take my car in frequently enough and I didn't feel ripped off when they quoted me for the repairs I already had scheduled, I asked them to give me a quote for all repairs/maintenance that the car needed. Paul called me later with the list of repairs (see above). I told him to go ahead and do any of the repairs that they could have done by Thursday.
When I picked up my car, Amanda went over the bill with me and showed that they had enrolled me in their customer loyalty program. I may have some of the details wrong, but the package includes 4 free oil changes, new wiper blades, and tons of discounts on repairs and maintenance. Many of these discounts were applied to the work I had performed, saving me hundreds of dollars.
I will definitely continue to use 180 Degrees Automotive and have already recommended that my husband take his SmartCar in to have the read hatch repaired.
I found 180 degrees Automotive online. I was intrigued by the fact that they are one of the few auto repair shops in Phoenix owned by a woman and have women mechanic. After reviewing their website I decided to use them to fix my husband's car. His 2006 Ford Taurus AC broke and was blowing hot air.
We arrived at the place 15 minutes before the open on Thurs 8/28/14. We made an appointment a few days before. We dropped the car off and was told they do not charge to diagnosis....only charge for agreed upon repairs.
About an hour and half later they called and told us the problem....leaking AC hoses. They charged about $50 for the part and about $150 for their labor. Altogether, after taxes, the final bill was about $207....which was very reasonable and affordable.
The service they provided was awesome. When we pick up the car the price came about to exactly what they stated over the phone. They left a nice little surprise gift inside our car thanking us for our business AND gave us a coupon for future oil changes and referrals coupons.
The interior design of 180 Degrees Automotive is quite unique and very nice. They offer a comfortable sofa for those who want to wait for the car to be fixed. They offer coffee and WiFi....and an television (although it wasn't on when we were there).
Overall, the service was great and I would definitely recommend! I already have!

"[member name removed] - thank you so much for your kind review. We look forward to seeing you at your next oil service! Bogi"
The work this time was on my daughter's old PT cruiser. Bogi understands that we want to keep the old thing running for at least another 3 years, and is helping us do that. Some major work was needed (see above). She did it in one day for slightly less than the estimate.
We have been using Bogi and 180 Auto for years. She's the only person we trust with our cars. She doesn't do work that isn't needed, and will be honest in showing you where you can save money. She gives you an unambiguous quote before hand. The cost never turns out to be more, although I have been surprised a few times when it ended up less. The cars are always ready within the time frame promised. I even get pick-up and dropped off at either end of the job. There isn't a garage like 180 anywhere in Phoenix. The whole gestalt of the place is a conscious attempt to redefine the auto repair experience. She even runs clinics to show people how to do some of the repairs themselves!
Whoever panned the place because their website mistakenly reported that that they did alignments was truly petty. I can't recommend 180 auto highly enough.
