The Phoenix company may be fine for a local move. They picked up my containers as scheduled. I would not recommend Pack Rat for a long distance move or storage. They could not deliver the second container on the day requested, adding to my expense. The did not pick up the containers on the scheduled date, and storage rates increased dramatically over the 6 months of my rental. They say they have a "long distance move team" , but this is just whoever answers the phone when you happen to call. On the plus side, the drivers in both states were kind, prompt, and professional.

They delivered a pod and we filled it up, and then they came back and picked it up and delivered it for us to our new location.  Everything went pretty well.

I have to pack everything and they will come & just pick-up the containers.  They just moved another contained two days ago.  They are a lot cheaper.  They are incredibly easy to deal with.  I can accommodate schedule changes.  Basically, I have had full on everything, so they have been able to come out & get the pods.  Whenever I have asked for an extra container, they got it right away.  They got it the next day as per the scheduling in the Phoenix office.  They are awesome people.  The drivers are nice and courteous people.  I am really impressed with them.

I got an estimate for delivery and storage on the company website and then talked to their friendly/helpful representatives at their 800 number. I rented a 16' long x 8' wide container and it just fit a sparsely furnished 1,500 square foot home. You will need to purchase a lock, 5 moving blankets, 50 feet of 1/4" nylon rope, boxes, bubble wrap and tape. I got the lock from PackRat and the other supplies from a home improvement store for around $125. You should also cover your upholstered furniture with sheets to protect it from dirt and sweat. The company dropped the container off in the driveway just as promised. Cost for delivery/pick-up is around $70. I had the unit stored in their climate controlled warehouse for $161 per month (you can get the 3rd month for free with their special). I needed to access the unit the next day and they put it out for you in their cool warehouse (no charge) and let you drive in next to it so you don't have to work outside in the heat. The warehouse manager was very friendly and you also have access to a restroom in the warehouse if you need to wash up.
