MCKEOWN LANDSCAPE

We moved into our home 2 years ago; it was the builder model (VIP Homes) and landscaped by McKeown in late 2020. The poly drip supply tubing used by McKeown is the cheapest the supply company has ever seen. In the last 4 months it has burst 7 times, flooding our yard and we have had it repaired at $100.00 plus per event and no end in sight. Poly drip supply line should last 10 to 15 years, and what is funny it is very inexpensive to use quality compared to the cheap stuff, all the cost is in the labor to install. I contacted Ted Haynes who VIP recommended I speak to, he said he just runs the office, and he would let his super know and that he should be in touch. We have not heard anything back from them in 3 weeks. I have priced replacing their cheap poly tubing it will run between $5,000.00 to $10,000.00 to dig it up and replace it. If you choose to use this company, be diligent about checking the quality of their materials so it does not cost you thousands in a few years...

The work is OK, but the company is fairly expensive and not very responsive -- even when they do come by to fix something they never even tell us what they did or even that they came by.

They were the fourth estimate I obtained and came within the budget I gave them to work with. Overall they were the most expensive, maybe 15% more than the average of the others, but what I got was well worth the 15%. Steve added details and amendments to the basic plan I had and turned it from a nice idea to a well rounded landscape package. Unlike the other estimates, his estimate showed me exactly what I was getting. The work involved removing some mature landscaping, relocating a mature tree, adding water line, and regrading. My wife and I are picky and get involved in all the details and Steve handled that well. For example, we like to pick our own plants but let him do that for us and we got some good stuff - overall, better than what I was seeing at Moon. The workers were efficient and respectful. They managed a two day job in one day which was nice. Part of my front wasn't included in the actual plan but I think Steve's sense of aesthetics couldn't leave it be. He freshened up these areas for me so when it was all done my whole yard looked nice, not just the part I contracted. Would I use them again? Oh yeah. Recommend? Definitely.

THE WORK CREW SHOWED UP PROMPTLY. THE DRIP SYSTEM DESIGN WAS MORE THEN ADEQUATE FOR THE JOB. BOTH FRONT AND BACK YARD PLANTING TOOK LESS THEN 3 DAYS.

THE UPGRADES WERE ALL A VERY GOOD VALUE CONSIDERING WHAT THEY WOULD HAVE COST IF DONE BY AN OUTSIDE BIDDER. ALL OF THE PLANTS SURVIVED AND ROBERT WAS VERY FLEXIBLE REGARDING THE TREES AND SHRUBS WE SELECTED. THE SOD WAS NOT VERY ATTRACTIVE IN THE WINTER, BUT IT'S GREENED UP NICE THIS SUMMER.
