Paradise Fountains & Pool Repair

Charged $275 to clean my fountain that wasn’t bubbling. Fountain worked for 9 days and then quit working. They took no responsibility. Said I didn’t take care of the fountain for those 9 days. Also left the decorative rock very messy after the cleaning

After searching Angies list for a contractor that does this type of worm, I called Paradise Fountains & Pool Services.   They said they would have someone in the area on Thursday and would be there sometime between 10 and 12.   They arrived about 10:30 and proceeded to check out why my pump was not working.   They said the pump needed to be replaced.   They quoted a price of $125 for the pump and $85 for the service call.  I told them to proceed and they replaced the pump and power cable in about 45 minutes.  The fountain is working fine and was satisfied with the job they did until I noticed the power cable after they had left.   They did not bury the new cable  in the flower bed that surrounds the fountain as was the case with the original cable.   My fault for not catching that at the time, otherwise I would have asked them to bury the cable.   The 2 workers were polite and did a good job of explaining how to adjust the water flow and clean the filter.

I didn't think too much about the cost of the pump at the time and didn't find out how much this type of pump costs until I checked it out on the Internet.    A comparable pump would cost no more than about $25.   My fault for not doing my due diligence by checking this out BEFORE they came out.   MY FAULT!  $25 vs. $125   Please, I can see a price of $50 because they are caring an inventory of pumps on their truck, but is a bit much.

I asked them if they take credit cards and said no.   Much later I returned to their web site and they do.   Why did they lie? 

I will not use them again because of their cost and the lack of quality.   But if you read this review when needing this type of service, get more than one estimate to make sure the cost is reasonable.

He is just a very handy, creative individual. I think the biggest thing is the thoroughness and the cleanliness. He brings chemicals over to clean the water. The water has to be maintained with chloride and he puts tablets in there. He will drain the fountains, and then clean the surface and then filled it back in with water, especially in the summer with dust and leaves. He is very reasonably priced. He will make recommendations if one asks for a redesign or lighting, which I did. I didn't have lighting when I bought the house and at night it illuminates the fountains very nicely, and he did that work. He could design a fountain too. When I bought the home these fountains were in place, but they were in disarray and they weren't working properly and I brought him in and he got them working, he got them cleaned and he put the lighting in, which required hiring an electrician. Then I contracted with him to come every month or so to maintain the cleanliness of both fountains. He just comes in and asks me $85 to do that. He is very punctual, very polite and very personable. He is very knowledgeable about his craft. I can only assume he is as thorough and competent when it comes to pools, as in my case where he does my fountains. I would speak highly of him.
