My original perception of their work quality was when my next door neighbor used them to re-landscape their yard. I noticed that the landscaping crew was very meticulous and that led me to contact them and setup annual contracts for their landscape services.
Desert Crest always showed up prompty to the appointments. However, their quality really started to decline last year. When they trimmed my bushes, I always asked to have the base of the plant trimmed / cleaned as well. I constantly had to remind them about this even after they had done my yard for several years. They rarely pulled the weeds in my yard nor raked my gravel areas. When I would ask them to trim back an Agave and / or a Yucca plant, they would haul away the leaves but, leave plant debris around the area.
There were times where I would ask them to trim a few plants that typically didn't require trimming on a monthly basis. There were several occaisions where they skipped this task. When I confronted the crew lead about the miss, he would tell me that his team had a limited time to do each yard and he would do it the next time they were out. This was not the response I expected to hear. When I setup my annual contract, my expectation was that I was paying for a complete job not by the hour.
In March of 2012, they trimmed two Yucca plants and cutoff the emitters. I didn't realize this until several days later due to a flooded yard. I was quite upset and contacted the owner. He didn't think this was possible and became defensive about what had happened. I was very dissappointed with his response. My annual contract with them was coming to a close and this prompted me to look for another landscape contractor.
Desert Crest also performed monthly landscaping services for the neighbors on both sides of my house. I spoke to the owners recently and they had expressed the sme quality concerns that I outlined above.

I couldn't find anything wrong with them. I have never worked with such a phenomenal group of people. The owner was on site every day, he came by and he spoke English, which was great. We had some issues with the drip system, and he was right out here taking care of things. We had a plant dying, and he replaced it without any problem. I would recommend them to anybody.
