"Mr [Member Name Removed], you are not a client of ours. Please find the company who provided the work for you."
We used this company because all the reviews indicated that they were a top-notch provider and were very much aware of the reviews they have received. In retrospect, those reviews are great unless there is a problem.
When we signed the contract, we were told a specific order that the pool remodel would be handled. we were told it would take extra time because some new concrete had to be poured and it would need to cure before the acrylic deck could be applied. we were told that while the curing would take about a week, we would see all the other work done so as to not lose too much time. we were surprised to see all that other work done before the concrete was poured. from that point forward, there was no coordination between the folks managing the job and the folks scheduling the work to be done.
the acrylic was applied and was supposed to be completed the following day with the color and sealing. that did not happen. I called about the problem and was assured all was ok. we were told that we couldn't walk on the acrylic for 4 days. we were surprised to see the pool being filled before the deck was complete, especially since it was only 3 days into the 4 day wait for curing. after the pool was filled, the deck folks returned to finish off the deck we had been assured was already completed. when they did this, they had to grind excess acrylic off the pool area. that acrylic fell into the pool and the company never bothered to clean it out. we have been trying to remove the sand and grit for 6 weeks. we can vacuum a little out at a time.
When the pool was completed, the company was supposed to start up the pool and get the water balanced and ready for acid and chlorine. while Tim assured us that when Mike started the pool, we learned after 10 days with water that no stabilizer, acid, or chlorine had been added. When stabilizer was added to the pool, it seems to have stained the finish. we have white blotches in a regal blue pool finish.
after 6 weeks, we noticed a crack in the new deck, in an area that was newly poured concrete. Don showed up to patch it. After a single application, absolutely nothing has changed.
the management for this company does not do well when things go sideways. When we call to get service, Don screams at me and tells me he's very busy doing new pools. This morning he suggested that he has lots of customers and will get around to taking care of my pool when he can.
it is because of this attitude that I am forced to seek help from the registrar of contractors. In 66 years, I have never had to seek help from the ROC.
"Perfect coordination between crews and scheduling, rarely saw the customer during the work process. I personally balanced (chemicals) the water with the Mr. standing 3' away from me at the pools completion. I returned 3 times after completion to address any concerns they had, the very tiny hairline crack was repaired. In my 35 years as a pool professional I have never screamed or raised my voice at a customer. This couple is the most verbally abusive customers we have ever worked with, while on my hands and knees repairing the tiny crack the Mrs. called me a "Son of a B." 3 times in 10 minutes."
I simply want to warn anyone that considers this company. The pool resurfacing seems to be fine. Get your job done by a company that is more responsive to follow up.
