We made the terrible decision to hire Urias Custom Remodeling to complete the master bath in our home addition, lay luxury vinyl planks and install a kitchen backsplash. Tito Urias refused to fix what was visibly a botched tile job on the shower floor without charging us a ton of money. I was gaslit and felt intimidated by Tito Urias. That same day, Tito demanded we pay the next draw on the spot. When we refused for obvious reasons, they placed a preliminary mechanics lien on our property. We were forced to get the AZ ROC involved. It was a good thing we did! With the assistance of the ROC we learned Urias Custom Remodeling did not meet installation guidelines or minimum workman ship standards on any aspect of the job we hired them for. Turns out they didn’t waterproof the shower. There was ZERO waterproofing on the shower floor and grossly insufficient waterproofing on the shower walls. It all had to be ripped out! Additionally, Tito didn’t pull the required permits for a new shower. The bathroom floor tile didn’t meet industry standards and had to be redone. ALL of the LVP flooring had to be pulled out as they did not prep the subfloors. There was a noticeable peak in the hallway and low spots as well that could be felt when walking. There were several poor cuts of the planks at the door jams, leaving the plastic underlayment visible. Tito glued our floating floors with an adhesive to hide the poor cuts. Multiple places where the planks weren’t interlocked and chipped. The kitchen backsplash had approximately forty places void of grout. Several so large, the drywall behind the tile was visible. They were given an extensive directive to remediate the poor-quality work but were unable to do so after several months. Urias Custom Remodeling had a second botched shower attempt, not presloping the shower floor at all and then installing a liner which was not compatible with a curb less shower. In my opinion they don’t have the basic skills or knowledge of building a shower. We were also informed by the ROC Urias Custom Remodeling has been operating under a ROC# other than their own and has been for multiple years. Their contract did not provide the minimum elements required of a contract, deceptively leaving out how to file a ROC complaint and only providing a one year warranty when in AZ it is a mandatory two year warranty. Initially I was fooled by Tito as he talked a big game, was prompt to arrive every day and cleanly in the workspace. Turns out he did not install one product to manufacturer installation guidelines, as he was required to do so. It has now been a year of living in his botched construction zone. They refuse to give us our money back and have repeatedly been dishonest throughout the process. I want to protect others from having to go through what my family and I have experienced. In my opinion Tito Urias does not have the skills to meet industry standards and he takes shortcuts throughout to increase his profits.

Over time, I found Tito Urias to be unprofessional and dishonest. Which was a shame as his crew did very nice work. Also, be sure to get several estimates for work to be performed. Tito gave me an estimate for painting the exterior of my house that was 3 times the amount of my other bids.

When we were searching for companies to install a large (3?x8?) picture window in our kitchen, we stumbled across Tito?s website and were left with a positive impression.  He seemed very knowledgeable, professional, and upfront with us, plus he offered much advice about other work we were contemplating.  In fact, one of his suggestions saved us at least $750 (!) on the combined cost of the installation and window itself, compared to a well-known window installation company in town.  We hired him for the job, and he squeezed us into his tight holiday schedule.
Though this was a smaller job (just under 1-1/2 days) compared to large remodeling projects, we could already see excellent workmanship, including a perfectly cut opening with nice, parallel lines, a header beam for structural integrity, external stucco repair and painting, and some neatly done mud-work inside.  We?re very happy with the end product, our choosing Tito for the job, and of course, our great new view of the backyard and wash.  Not to mention, Tito said we can call anytime we need advice about things -- the mark of a true professional!
Though everyone is entitled to voice their opinions and experiences through reviews, it should be noted that those who actually had work done by Tito consistently gave him stellar reviews, while those who negatively reviewed his company here on Angie?s List were upset about the estimate process.  Tito explained that given his small (but expanding) business, he cannot always provide estimates to everyone.  However, this is not a reflection of his professionalism, work ethics, or commitment.

I called Urias Construction in August of 2012. Mr. Urias came out within a week to look at my project and emailed me a quote within a few days. It took me about a month to decide on a contractor, but eventually decided upon Urias Construction. His bid was in the middle of the 3 I received, but the lower bid was from an independent guy who was not licensed and did not return my phone calls. Mr. Urias scheduled us for November, as he was booked with projects until then. We could have gone with someone else, but have had a few bad experiences with low-priced contractors showing up right away but then taking MONTHS to finish the job. I told Mr. Urias that November was fine as long as he finished the project within a timely manner. He showed up the EXACT day he said he would and was finished (COMPLETELY FINISHED!) in 5 working days!
He and his crew were extremely professional and did an amazing job with my courtyard...I could not be happier. They built up our wall in an old Santa Fe style with a window cut-out, built bench-style seating into the wall, installed low-voltage lighting into the wall, and then tiled the bench with some old Mexican tile that I had left over from another project. Then they built a seating area and path out of flagstone and painted the wall a beautiful terra cotta color. The finished product is stunning. Mr. Urias also adjusted the entry gate at no charge after noticing that it was a bit and quot;off it's hingeand quot; and was sticking.
I would recommend Urias Construction to anyone doing a remodeling job of ANY size. I checked out their website before hiring them, and they have lots of other recommendations from happy clients. A+!

Mr Urias was very professional and at the same time very approachable as the job progressed. I had both questions and suggestions during the work, and both were met with consideration and knowledge. Mr. Urias had other, larger jobs going at the same time as mine, but the only delays after work started were from the stucco subcontractor, who worked entirely alone and thus very slowly. I made payments at each stage of completion, and it was finished in generally excellent time considering the delays of stucco work. Overall, I was surprised at the complexity of what had to be done for what I had assumed would be a "simple" job, and I can't emphasize enough the knowledgable and professional work from Mr Urias. I've had other work done by contractors, and it can be frustrating and even intense when interacting with some of them. I never experienced any of this with Urias Remodeling. I would definitely get other bids to be sure that you have a good idea of the scope of the work, but I'm sure that Urias Remodeling would be competitive in price, and I'm certain that the quality of work and personal attention would be THE BEST.
