BUDGET WEST CONCRETE

this is the second time we have used this company and have been very pleased with the outcome both times; price is good and quality of work is good, could use improvement on the clean up (left cigarette butts all over, over-sprayed on rock landscape and grass, left empty soda cans laying around, left some trenches in grass from equipment that took us a while to repair) but overall, good job for the price; completed work on time as promised and within budget; work is quoted/scheduled by owner and completed by owner, which is nice that you don't have to deal with subcontractors, owner is very personable and honest - what he quotes is what you pay, there are no hidden costs; previous job was entire driveway, and new patio concrete around pool; would definitely use again and would recommend to others;

They side walk appears to have needed to have the ground compacted more, as all of the stress faults have crack as well as one small pad crack diagonally. The surfacing of the concrete looks good and the guys were courteous and prompt. They did need reminding on a couple of minor details I wanted done. I also noted that the buried or forgot the expansion joint between the house and the patio and between the patio and the driveway. Also, they used my neighbor?s faucet to rinse their tools, and left a large mess on his property (splashed concrete on stucco and rocks). This would have been very worse if he hadn?t already been in the process to repaint his house. As it was he was quite angry at me and the concrete crew.

** In response to their response:  Yes they did use my neighbor's water without hs permission and YES they did leave concrete laden water splashed on his wall. This resulted in grey spots on his dark brown trim/ascents that are tough to remove. He repainted the whole house due to an unrelated issue.

The one 90 degree corner cracked at the 45 degree (corner to corner). The crack is still small.

The crew was polite and didn't leave a mess on my yard. **

It went very well. They were prompt, cleaned up after themselves, called to see if we were happy with the forms before they poured the cement, and laid out a curvy sidewalk around the trees beautifully. Their bid was the most competitive and they did an excellent job.

The project went well but not perfectly. Like many contractors they left a bit of a mess for us to clean up and the concrete poured was not perfectly level. Yet our yard posed many difficulties, so all in all I think they did a good job.

I am very pleased with Budget West. The owner, John Kilgoar was very courteous and worked on the project personally along with a longtime assistant. They were always there when they said they would and worked steadily on each phase of the project as long as it took to complete it. Their quote was fair and there was no deviation or surprises. The attention to finishing the concrete was outstanding, considering that two slabs would eventually be covered with flooring. Budget West also does overlays and counter tops; we will be calling them again.
