They did a great job. They were very professional and they made sure they didn't do anything over and above what they didn't have to do. They actually fixed a few things that probably saved us some money by not having to replace it. They explained what they were doing, did it, and were relatively quick. They also communicated very well.

I chose Thornton Plumbing because of good previous experience - and was so glad I did!  Neal was very thorough and professional in his work - and as a bonus was pleasant and friendly to work with.  Which was a good thing, because this job took two afternoons and evenings, with two trips to the plumbing supply store.  He simply stayed and did what it took to get the job done.  And at the end, not only was the job done, exceeding my expectations, but he left the place cleaner than when he came!  The price was very good considering the number of jobs he did, and the time it took to do them.  I definitely will use Thornton Plumbing again, and recommend them highly.

After flushing the toilet, my sewer backed up into the shower. I called Thornton Plumbing from the Angie's List magazine. Kris arrived promptly. He unclogged the main line explaining to me exactly what he was doing and why he was accessing it from the roof. I had a similar problem 5 years previously, but the rotor rooter person who came was not that thorough or neat. Kris explained to me how the plumbing was probably installed under the house. Kris impressed me with his thoroughness so I asked him questions about my tankless water heater. Kris said it should be cleaned at least once or twice a year. It was installed two years ago and I had never had it cleaned so Kris said he could do it on this visit. Once again he did an excellent job, explaining to me what he was doing, and what I could do to make the job easier the next time. Two weeks later, my sink next to the toilet plugged up. I called Thornton Plumbing again and they said they would send Kris between 2-4 PM that day. However, Kris was detained on other jobs and never arrived. Brent called me about 4:30 PM and explained Kris was detained. Brent said he was at the office and he was willing to come out and fix the problem, but it would take him about an hour to arrive. I had taken the day off work so I could be at home when they arrived, so I asked Brent to come out. Brent did not arrive until 7 PM, two hours later. We were both tired by that time. The work they did was always very professional. I did feel that the second problem should probably have been solved on the first visit. Brent said he would not charge me for the extra service trip. I will call them again, but I will ask them to be sure and let me know if there is any chance they won't be able to make the scheduled time. I have to take off work to be home for repair people, and it was upsetting when Brent did not arrive until 7 PM.

I originally asked this company to come to my home because my hot water heater wasn't working or so I thought. It turned out to be "operator error", but since I was already thinking about getting a water softener, I asked for information. They are a no nonsense kind of company. They only install softeners that they actually use in their own homes. They are a small family owned company who are fast, efficient, and honest. I'm very pleased with the work they did and the price they quoted. No extra costs. Quality work.

Read about Thornton Plumbing on your website and read some of the comments others had written in their reviews. Ratings were high, so I thought I would give them a try. Called the office and was told that a serviceman could be out before noon that very day. I sure was pleased to hear that! So, we scheduled the appointment... and then I waited. And waited... Shortly after noon, I called the office again and was assured that my repairman was finishing up his job and would be arriving soon. Just about an hour later, Neal, one of the owners, arrived to solve my problem. I explained that I needed a new valve for my dishwasher, my garbage disposal quit that morning and I needed the new one installed and also my new dishwasher needed to be installed. He took all this in and in a very professional manner proceeded to do all the work I had requested. I was very impressed with the quality.... Neal went out of his way to be sure everything worked... even had to get an additional part for my dishwasher so it could be installed! He inspected the pipes under the sink to be sure nothing leaked after all the work was completed. He was very thorough and I am happy to say I have found my Plumber! I was a bit leery about some of the comments others left in their reviews regarding lack of communication, not showing up on time..... but you have to know that once they arrive, the quality of service they provide, the professional way the work is performed, and the fun personality of Neal... well, it's worth the wait! I would not hesitate to recommend them to my friends and neighbors... and will definitely call them again if I have any other plumbing issues!

I like Thornton Plumbing because they are very competent plumbers. They are professional, show up on time, and are clean, tidy and personable contractors. The major issue that I have with Thornton is thier responsiveness. Thornton is owned and run by two brothers, Neal and Brent. Neal is much more responsive than Brent, but Brent is the person who usually answers the phone, and who clients depend on to initiate any activity. Brent sounds very professional on the phone, but when he offers to call you back in XX time (an hour, tomorrow, next week) he doesn't follow through. It was exteremely annoying to be managing a major remodeling job and have to call Thornton Plumbing to follow up to make sure they ordered the parts, or ran the credit card through successfully, or schedule anything and so on. If Brent could organize himself a little better, or have someone else do secretarial duties the company would receive an A from me. The brothers felt guilty about the hassle they put me through, so on the day of my final installation they both came out personally to do the work, which I really appreciated. I haven't had any problems with the new faucets or any of the other work they've done. I'll use them again in the future.

This was a good experience. They were able to come to my residence and give an estimate on the same day I called. The problem was a leaky faucet; they didn't try to sell me on any unnecessary work. I asked about different types of faucets and they explained my options. They brought both types of faucets on the day of installation and the price on the better one was even less than they had quoted me. The man who did the work was friendly and easy to talk to--he also gave some helpful suggestions. On both occasions that I met with the plumber he came from a previous job, so he was somewhat late, but that seemed understandable. I definitely recommend them to others.

I don't remember exactly the cost, which is why i didn't list it. But their prices are competitive, even if they aren't the cheapest. I have worked with Neal, Brett and one other crew member... each has been wonderfully professional -- even putting on little blue shoe covers before coming into my home. They are polite and honest. They were able to replace our water heater quickly and without a lot of worry on our part. I refer people to them often and they will always be the first ones I call for any plumbing issues.

Home Depot delivered a new dishwasher on Saturday morning and said they couldn't install it because it was too far from the sink. I called Thornton Plumbing and Brent said he would be out in the afternoon to take care of it. He arrived on time, completed the job, and removed the old dishwasher. I asked him to come back on Monday and drain the sediment from the water heater (which they had installed about 3 years earlier). They installed a drain valve and drained the tank. I've always been very satisfied with them and wouldn't use any other plumbers.

Dave was very friendly, well dressed, clean, and explained in detail everything he did and why he was doing it. He also gave me suggestions on things that I should be on the look-out for replacing in the future and didn't "pressure" me into thinking that it had to be done right then.

The overall experience was great. After finding company on Angie's List I called inquiring about the scope of work. Mike was here within 2 hours and was able to effectively perform the job needed. After removing unite, he even cleaned up most of the hard water deposits on the concrete. Mike was fvery riendly and knowledgeable about the work needed.

The sense of relief from knowing that my floors did not need to be dug up and pipes excavated, was something I got within the first ten minutes of the plumber's visit. Mike is a knowledgeable and experienced, plumber. He took the time to explain how the control panel works (which I never truly learned). Mike has quite a sense of humor, which my family was receptive to; I feel he gauges his humor to the situation and the client. Overall, it was a very positive experience and I will definitely use Thornton's Plumbing for any more services in the future.

The landscape valve job turned out to be much more difficult than they originally thought. They tried to save us $ by replacing parts of it but it was so old that it was impossible so they had to replace the entire unit. Gary did a great job, was very professional and cleaned up when done. He had to do extra work as the water would not turn off completely at the street so he had to add a valve before he could replace the unit. I had called them in the late morning and they were able to come out the same day in the early afternoon. They called 30 minutes before coming also which was very nice. I would definitely use them again and refer them to others.

I called Thornton Plumbing early this morning and left a message requesting service. Neal called back within an hour and a half and said he would have Mike out to the house in roughly another hour and a half. He was very pleasant and answered all my questions. Mike arrived on time (with a heads up call from Neal 30 minutes before Mike's arrival). Mike explained what he would do, discussed materials he would use and pointed out potential problems we might have in the future with this pipe which dates back to 1980. He was polite and knowledgeable. He completed the job in approximately 1 hour. This job included virtually no digging or back filling of soil. My husband and I had prepped the site before Mike arrived and will fill in the dirt around the pipe in a few days. Mike was a pleasure to have here. It was beastly hot at 9 a.m. when he arrived and he was still smiling when he left. He also gave us a bid to replace the entire pipe at a later date. I would seriously consider using Thornton Plumbing for this job based on their performance today.

After looking over the reports on Angie's list, I decided to go with Thornton Plumbing based on reports. My husband called July 1, and received an apology that they would not be able to come out that same day-which we would not have expected! Service was set for the following day with a time frame from 9-10:00AM. We did not ask for an estimate of the job. Mike arrived right on time at 10:00. We introduced ourselves, and Mike went to work. I asked if there was anything we could do to assist, and when he opened the cabinet door below the sink and saw that it was cleared out, he said, "Nope, this makes me smile." Due to the hard water we have in Phoenix, there was a build up of water marks around the base of the old faucet. We have a Corian countertop that can be sanded with a fine grit of sand paper to remove the water spots. We did not have any of the needed sand paper, and Mike stated he would bring in a mesh sheet from his truck that could work. He did not have to do so, but removed the water spots (and crust) with Soft Scrub and the piece of mesh prior to installing the new faucet. The installation took approximately 40 minutes. When asked for any tips with maintenance, Mike suggested taking action at the first signs of a leak that could mean replacing only necessary internal parts rather than a whole faucet. It was also a plus having the $20 coupon offer from Thornton for the work performed.

This being "the valley of the sun" Arizona, cold water is actually tepid, so 48 hour wait for a new hot water heater was acceptable. Chose the first responder (second company called) with reasonable price who had an A rating from Angie's List. As I had time, I called other plumbing companies to get quotes, and found that I got a very reasonable price from the one I chose. As I had to be out of town, I had a friend/neighbor to act as my proxy. Everything went smoothly. Removal and take away old, and install new hot water heater. Gary, of Thornton Plumbing (480-474-7691), found some charred wiring when removing old heater, and replaced it free of charge. I thanked him for the safety check. Good guy. Credit card used over phone. Credit card paid. Hot water just fine. End of story.

Thornton's plumber, Dave, arrived after another job he was on in about 4 hours from when I first called even though it wasn't an emergency. After checking everything out Dave determined the leak was in the water main outside from the meter to the house. No water leak was evident on the ground, but we thought it would under a large mound in my front yard. Rather than just start digging anywhere, Dave suggested in bringing in a leak detection service. The next day the leak detector company found the leaking area in about 1/2 hour. A few hours later Dave came back and dug down about 4 feet to the leaking pipe. He stayed until after dark to make the repair and ensure it didn't leak. He suggested coming back in a few days to back fill the hole since everything was so wet from the leak which ended up being about 1000 gallons a day. A few days later he returned just as promised and filled the hole back in. The price was right on the initial quote even though it included the leak detector company. Thornton did everything they said they would and were right on time.

It went ok...had a nice grout seal around the toilet and now is replaced by a caulk seal, but I pretty much expected that. Thought the work was fine, but the expensive...a flat rate of about $160 for a 20-30 minute job with very little supply costs. Thankfully a coupon off of Angie's List helped bring the cost down a little over $20.

Neal installed the timers and showed me how to use them. He made adjustments to the suspect toilets and didn't have the appropriate part on the truck to replace the flapper so promised to return at another time with the part to replace it.
