$475
First visit he came to the house to evaluate the job, consisting of filling in several gaps related to the project underway at the time, replacing baseboards in several rooms. In addition, there were 6 travertine tiles that needed to be replaced. The estimate was for $475, including tax, which seemed reasonable given the high recommendations I had for him. His first visit provided a filler for the gaps that were visible (the old baseboard was narrower but wider at the corners). His next visit cut out the old tiles, and we had found two additional cracked tiles, which he removed, and one crack that could be filled and left in place.. He then had to cut and install the new tiles, but in pulling the replacements from our garage, we found that the tiles had not been treated and sealed, and would not match the sheen on the existing floor. He took the new tiles back to his shop and treated them to match. In the meantime, additional gaps had been uncovered in the ongoing baseboard project, and he treated those. He then cut and installed the replacement tiles, using new grout of the same color rather than risking a mismatch because of the age of the bag of grout I had on hand. He showed me how he had adjusted for height mismatch between previous tiles as he installed the new ones. At the end, he also guided me in the purchase of the best type and color of caulking to use at the bottom of my baseboards when I completed installation. In a word, he cheerfully responded to the changes that I needed, and was meticulous in every aspect of his work. Fine product, delightful person, and true to the price in spite of the extra work he performed.

The husband and wife team arrived at 08:30 and worked non stop to approximate 12:15 removing old grout in master bath and hall bath and installing new grout. Both bath looked great. After 48hr cure time we were completely satisfied using both like new showers. I highly recommend this spouse team.

I ended up stopping payment of my check and doing the work myself. The owner, did not ask for the payment as he said if we were not satisfied.

The Grout Doctor came on time for an estimate, and sent his technician on schedule to do the job. He repaired the grout, adding where some had come out, and redid the sink surround. He also recommended a darker color, and we agreed upon a dark blue, which looked quite nice with the blue tiles. He left me with some of the blue color for touchup later. That will be useful, because where water stands for any length of time on the grout, the color fades. Two months later, it mostly looks good, but I am seeing some lifting of the grout near between the sink and back splash. Overall, I am satisfied.

Very poorly done. Would not reommend nor use again.
First, the grout they used to repair my flagstone did not come close to matching my existing grout. It also did not look like they did anything to the flagstone to clean it other than wash it, as all the spots remained. Perhaps this is as good as it gets, but given how poor the grout was done, I now question this.
I called the owner, Ramus, and he came out to look at the grout work done by his employee. He defended that it was as good as it gets (they used a tan grout on grey existing grout). I told him it was not even close. He hemmed and hawed and then asked ME to pick the grout colour. As I am not the grout expert (that is why I paid them), I asked him to mix a grout that matched. Ramus said no, they cannot mix grout (10 minutes spiel of how impossible it was to mix two colours). I then picked a grey colour from his pallet. He said it would come out lighter than the sample. I again asked HIM to pick the colour. He said he was not a colour expert. With that absurdity, I ended the meeting. After asking me to pick from a colour pallet then telling me the colour is not true to installed grout and that he knew little about colour ... it was clear he had no interest in properly repairing their shoddy work and would likely just plop on another mis-matched colour and then blame me for the mismatch. Extremely unprofessional.
As an aside, I had another tiler in my house at the time, and he said it is difficult to perfectly match grout. When Ramus left, my tiler asked why Ramus did not mix the two grey samples he showed us. I told him Ramus said he could not mix grout colours. My tiler laughed, rolled his eyes and said that was ridiculous. He said that is how you match old grout, and he does it all the time.
Very disappointed to see they have an A rating on Angie's list - that is why I chose them.

Our local Grout Doctor owner came to the house and inspected the floors. He recommended cleaning and then staining the grout to make it look neat and consistent. He measured and gave me what the price would be. I agreed to the work and we scheduled them to come out in two weeks.
When the time came the two guys showed up right on time. They were friendly, professional, and explained everything they were going to do before they did anything. I agreed, and showed them the rooms. They went right to work. The job they did was very tedious, but they had a fine attention to detail and were very meticulous the entire time.
Once they finished, the grout looked fantastic. I am so happy with the results and would definitely use this company again!

I found out there were several offices and since my condo was in Scottsdale I was assigned to Raymos. Raymos came out the next day, was prompt, experienced, and professional. He quickly identified that the tub/ tile had been previously re-coated. The tiles and tub were in good condition, however the grout areas were permanently 'dirty' looking, cracked and porous. The soap dish was peeling paint. Raymos explained that would cost about $900 to re-coat the entire tub/tile but that he could just replace the grout and spot re-coat the soap dish for about $250.

This sounded like an excellent solution and he was able start work on the project the next day. He explained that him and his brother in law, Brian, would team up to do different parts of the job.

The next day Brian called and said he would be an hour late, but that was OK because he called me and let me know. I like that.
He worked for a few hours and then asked me to take a look at the work.
I noticed that the grout he used was really silicon/ caulking material- which was darker than the tiles. when he removed the damaged grout he didn't score the surrounding tiles, so the epoxy from the tiles created jagged edges where he removed the grout. This created a dirty, jagged edged look that didn't look much better than before he started- just different. He also cut three of the tiles- large gashes across the tiles in the process. He successfully removed the rust from the tub and re-coated the soap dish.

I think he knew it looked terrible. I told him that the result was not what I was expecting and that the grout still made the tiles look dirty , which is why I was having work done to it in the first place.

He called Raymos, who offered to reduce the price significantly. Brian explained that the work he had done would be a good base for a re-coat company to do their work. I explained that the re-coat companies I spoke with previously insist on stripping any previous re-coat job, which would mean all the work they had done that day would be removed.

Brain said he understood, and quickly gathered up his tools and left without asking for any payment.

They were nice, but for a company to call themselves the and quot;grout doctorsand quot; they certainly don't live up to the name.

Since then I hired Todd's porcelin repair to 're-coat' with an airbrush over the gashed tiles, the dirty grout lines and sloppy caulk job. I paid them about $200 and am happy with the result. see my other report on them.

They were very experienced and very well priced. He didn't over sell me as the others tried to with the grout staining. The advice was very good. They just had to do the steaming. They used hot water and steam, and that was it. It looks like new and they saved me a lot of money. The guy could also do the stone, granite counter tops, the kitchen and that kind of stuff. They were easy to work with. I would use their services again in the future.

We called The Grout Doctor and discovered that there are several offices valleywide. We dealt with Conrad Fiedler in the Southwest part of town. The main number referred us to him. He was wonderful to work with. He heard my big concern about the grout matching and really took his time making sure it was correct. He was punctual, professional and competent. We would use him again and refer him to anyone that needed this type of work.

All my experience with this company was exceptional. They were quicker to schedule both estimate and work than all others I tried, arriving on schedule both times. They were willing to repair problems all other estimators told me could not be repaired, did beautiful work on every section. They diagnosed and repaired problems other companies missed. Also, they used only a single, necessary piece of my very small supply of discontinued extra tiles, removing at least four old tiles without breakage and resetting them, which other estimators said could not be done. They were considerate of my schedule and cleaned up after themselves. I will have them do more grout cleaning and caulking as soon as I can afford to. My only problem was the shower grout color, which looks different than the old color. We ordered the color spec'd on the house plans, so either original was NOT done per spec, or manufacturer changed the shade. Not The Grout Doctor's fault in either case, and I could not tell myself until it was completely dry. Wish it had been noticed, but would have taken extra time/cost to figure it out.

RODNEY REED HAS A FRANCHISE IN THIS BUSINESS, SO I'M NOT SURE I CAN SPEAK FOR OTHER FRANCHISES. HOWEVER, I FEARED FOR MY SAFETY AND THAT OF MY DAUGHTERS AFTER HE COMPLETED THE JOB AND I TOLD HIM THAT I WAS DISAPPOINTED IN HIS CLEAN-UP AND THE WAY THE JOB WAS LEFT. I HAD TO REPAINT ALL AROUND MY SHOWER. HE TOLD ME TO CLEAN UP MYSELF AFTER 24 HOURS (WHEN I ASKED HIM TO COME BACK TO DO SO, AS I ASSUMED THAT IT WAS PART OF THE JOB). HE BECAME IRATE AND HIS DEMEANOR ESCALATED. I INSISTED THAT HE COME BACK TO COMPLETE THE JOB AND THAT I WOULD PAY HIM WHEN HE COMPLETED THE JOB TO MY SATISFACTION AND HE JUST 'WENT BERZERK'! I HAD TO CALL MY NEIGHBOR; I FEARED MY SAFETY. HIS WIFE CALLED AND PLEADED WITH ME NOT TO CALL THE POLICE. NEEDLESS TO SAY CONSUMER BEWARE! THIS MAN IS NOT WELL AND I FOUND HIM IN THE YELLOW PAGES.
