Tile Floor: Chose diagonal layout with tile baseboard. This is a more expensive approach, but we felt it was worth it. The installers were fast, but I was very unhappy with their cleanliness. Taking out existing tile is extremely messy and they would leave empty water bottles and knee pads at the end of day. We were living in the house and we felt that this was not respected. I communicated this to Robert at the end of the job (2.5 days in total) and he said he would pass it on. Other issues were that they put dents in the side of our refrigerator, moved the support piece to our wood shutters covering sliding door (shutter manufacturer had to come out and fix), and caused a small water leak when they turned the water supply to the refrigerator back on.
We are happy with the quality of the tile work, but not with the process. We even found out after the fact that the some of the workers were not employees of the tile installation company, which left us exposed from a liability perspective.
So, mixed feelings after the experience. Happy with the finished look but displeased with the installation process.
