Many seniors enjoy independence but can experience social isolation and are at risk for injuries. Knowing when an older adult should move closer to adult children or into a care facility is a question that millions grapple with, with no clear guide. Instead, most often, a catastrophic fall or medical event creates an emergency move. When Seniors lose the choice and control over moving conditions, they can suffer a loss of dignity, memories, and the ability to maximize the value of their belongings. We want to change that. Senior Moves is committed to making the process of downsizing empowering, simple, and joyful. The downsizing Senior has an opportunity to capture history, memories, and the family legacy while downsizing. The Senior can experience a great joy of gifting family treasures and preserving their stories, when downsizing is conducted purposefully, not as an emergency.
