They came out quickly and gave a thorough estimate. Sears estimated $19,000 for a new roof with a 30 year warranty on the shingles. I felt the price was outrageous, but they tried to justify the cost by explaining that they will always be around to validate the warranty. Their service was fine. My main issue was the price.

See above - do not use them

They were late and they couldn't deal with my electrical so I had to use someone for that. They were in a hurry. I was disappointed and wasn't exactly satisfied with them. They did everything right with the refrigerator but they did nothing right with the stove. I would use them again in the future.

Our Sears/Kenmore water heater began overheating... we called a plumber on Angie's List, but they got "the run-around" from Sears Parts and were unable to help us.
The next morning I called Sears service and got a sales pitch for an labor warranty on a water heater that was still under warranty for parts. After refusing the warranty, they were able to get a technician to my home the same day.
The diagnosis was quick and simple, replace two snap-in thermostats. The bill: $175. (After argument, the technician reduced the charge to $123.)
I have had this experience consistently with Sears Service: Hard sell on warranty... exorbitant prices on non-warranty service. 

My Kenmore relatively new washer or dryer is leaving brown one inch rust stains on all white clothing. I recently purchased 2 new shirts from Nordstrom that are now ruined due to the problem. Filled out an online request for service from Sears Home Services. The technician took the dryer parts apart and said there appeared to be no problem and it would be an additional fee to do a cursory look at the washer which I agreed to. He said he couldn't see a problem and for an another add on fee he could take it apart and look at the parts. He told me to try and figure out if it was the washer or dryer that is causing the problem which really annoyed me because that's why I called Sears. When I called their customer service to complain that nothing was fixed the representative asked if their were stains on my dark clothes???????? I laughed. Never use them again, VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!
