OK, but too expensive. The company representatives were fine, but I never got my two quotes. I even called and asked about it afterwards. The electrician found that the ceiling fan to be replaced was working - it had had a remove problem. We found this when it was half down. So, I asked they put the new fan in the main room, which they did. Afterwards, the ceiling fan salvaged in my bedroom made a lot of noise and I replaced it anyway. But two fellows were working and one just put the fan together by hand and helped with paperwork. I think only one electrician should have been needed and this really drove up the cost. Also, they could not do work on Saturdays, which is important to me. I found a really good handyman who I will go with in the future for this kind of work. Sorry it took so long to write this up!

I found the business practices of this establishment to be questionable at best, unprofessional, dishonest and down-right insulting at worst. Larry, the owner seems to know what he is about and was fine to work with. The issue is more with his hired help, I’ve only met two… Jeff, and another guy whose name I didn’t catch. Jeff was really nice and friendly, but unfortunately doesn’t seem to have much of any idea as to what he is doing. The other guy, to put it bluntly is creepy and rude AF. We had a pretty extensive list of misc. items that we wanted addressed on our property Mostly smallish stuff, but a variety of things. At the time of the quote the owner said that everything would cost between $800-900. It was a good price so I booked them. Larry and Jeff came out and worked on everything, they did a good job and I had no complaints. However they forgot to replace two plugs that had been part of the original (verbal) quote, I didn’t realize it had been forgotten until long after they had left. A few weeks later, some other issues cropped up that we couldn't figure out so I called them back out to deal with that and the forgotten plugs. Jeff and a guy I hadn't met came out. After about two hours they told me they couldn't figure it out and that Larry would need to come out. And almost left again without fixing the plugs. I reminded them to do that item before leaving. While working on the plugs the new guy began talking about some really creepy things it made me so uncomfortable and was NOT the type of conversation you have with customers... I wanted the guy out of my house ASAP after that. So the guys finished fixing the plugs and packed up to leave. Jeff was already in the car when the creepy guy comes up to me and tells me I owe them $210 dollars for the assessment of the non-working lights, and the replacement plugs. I told him that first of all I had already paid to have the plugs done the last time, and that it had just been forgotten, and that I didn’t understand why they were charging $200 for the rest when they didn’t do anything. Instead of answering or justifying the charge he literally just walked away mid-conversation saying over his shoulder that they’d call me when Larry was back in town to deal with the laundry light issue. Now I don’t know about you, but when I hire someone to figure out what’s wrong and fix it… and they can’t... I don’t expect to get charged for their inability to do their job… but maybe that’s just me. I would have been more than happy to pay a trip charge, that I feel would have been reasonable, **** I would have even paid the $200 if they had figured out what was wrong but weren’t able to fix it at that time… but they didn’t. I feel that them trying to charge for a service that was essentially not rendered is dishonest, and incredibly unprofessional. To then just walk away, without scheduling a time to come back and actually do what they were hired to do, was rude and unprofessional. I wish I could say that was the end of my story, but it isn’t. Come to find out over the weekend one of the plugs that they had replaced now doesn’t work at all. So this past Monday I called them to see when Larry would be back in town to address the laundry issue and now to address the non-working plug issue. And was told that the plugs weren’t a part of the previous quote (it definitely was), and that they weren’t going to come out to repair the light issue, or to fix the plug that they ****** up… and that they didn’t have to. So I’m left worse off than I was when they came out the second time. This company is rude, unprofessional, and totally incompetent, on top of that they are dishonest. When asked to do the work they were paid for, they balk, when refusing to pay for work not done, they balk… I’m still livid about how terribly this company has been overall. 10/10 USE A DIFFERENT ELECTRICIAN!
Response from Rio Salado Electric
"The client was given a written quote to move the electrical wiring for the washer and dryer and some other items the they wanted fixed. Larry took a piece of paper and wrote out the items they wanted done. The quote was 900 to 1,000. It was a piece of paper and we do not have a copy. They called us to do the work and after it was done they were adamant that we quoted 800 to 900. We had not kept a copy of the quote so rather than fight it we accepted the smaller amount and left. They called us back a week or so later saying that a light quit working and they thought it might be something we damaged. We came and looked, opened switches and boxes and could not find anything that we had done that caused the problem nor could we find the problem. They then asked us to fix their floor outlets in the bedroom. When we completed the work she said that the outlets were part of the original quote. They were not, and it was not mentioned at all when we came and gave the quote. It seems to us that they were going to have us repair the complete electrical of the house for this quote that we did not have a copy of. They refused to pay us for the work we did that day. They had already shorted us $100 on the original work. We see no reason to come out and work for someone that is not honest. We give good service for a fair price. We cannot work for free."

I purchased a deal as a holiday gift for my son. The deal was for 1 hour of work. We have purchased electrician deals for our home in Southern California and were absolutely thrilled with the service provided. Unfortunately, this was not the case in this event. Rio Salado Electric arrived with two servicemen and asked to see what needed to be completed. In order of priority, 1) faulty wiring of outdoor ceiling fan, 2) faulty wiring of bedroom 1 wall switch, 3) faulty wiring of bedroom 2 wall switch, and if time allowed, 4) making a single switch a double switch for independent operations. After showing what work was required in order of preference, the one electrician started to work on the outdoor ceiling fan while the second electrician watched. After the first electrician was nearly finishing his work (and all he did was shorten the wires and tell us we needed a new battery for the remote control) the second electrician went to inspect the first wall switch. He opened up the wall plates to observe the electrical box and had the second electrician look at the ceiling fan wiring and they both determined that there was faulty wiring for two of the wall switches that we wanted repaired. He informed us that "Ricky Retardo" did the electrical work and that it would all need to be rewired. He looked at the third wall switch that had one control for both the ceiling fan and the ceiling fan light and changed out the switch so that the ceiling fan and the ceiling fan light could be controlled independently. At the end of the service, the lowest priority switch was changed from one control to independent controls. Neither of the other switches had any work completed. So basically, the lowest priority item was the only item repaired. To add insult to injury, at the end of the service, they then charged us for a second electrician and an additional 1/2 hour of work for both of them. Now, I don't mind paying for the additional time, but, having paid for a deal that was for an hour of work, don't show up with 2 men and then charge the client for an hour and 1/2 at a supervisor rate for the second electrician who basically did nothing but watch the other electrician do all the work. By the way, out of complete frustration, we bought a new remote control unit for the outdoor ceiling fan, installed it ourselves and it finally works perfectly. Replacing the batteries in the remote control was not the issue. Oh, they took one of the wall plates with them so we have to replace that as well. I felt absolutely scammed because hardly any work was completed as requested and they charged us above and beyond the deal price. I've never had that experience before with Angie's List Deals. We will never reach out to Rio Salado Electric again.

Horrible! One worker had no idea what he was doing and was the nephew of the owner. He took 3 times as long. Pulled out the electrical casing of an outlet and tore the sheet rock. Owner ended up coming over and thru $20 bill at me and said go buy your own paint and fix. This incompetent worker decades I sign an over priced invoice. He refused to break out the $500 labor and $175 materials knowing they left and went to Lowes and materials were only $80. Owner stated they can charged whatever they want. I ended up filing a claim with my credit card company hoping they would get a break out of invoice charges and have company provide receipts. Denied. Save yourself a big headache and find another company!

"We give estimates over the phone based on the information given over the phone. We did many times the work that was originally had been asked when she called in. When we found that she was dissatisfied with the work that was done we came back and did some additional work at no additional charge."

They did not offer options on the wiring. IE remote control or wiring it directly to the wall switch. Pushed a wireless system. Then they had to go get the parts from Home depot and ended up charging me more than the Groupon. Called their office and their reasoning for the extra charge being the time it took to go get the parts.
Response from Rio Salado Electric
"Wiring wall switches to a ceiling fan when there is no attic is a very difficult and costly job. Installing a remote control is cheaper and will give the same results. We keep our trucks stocked with the items normally needed for the jobs. If there is an item that we do not normally carry on the truck we have to go pick it up. Our coupon covers the first hour of service for 1 man, it does not cover parts. We charged the coupon rate for the time worked plus parts."
