Norris Air was very patient in waiting for roofers to do their part of the work. But they kept in touch with us and with other contractors to expedite the work. It's a good company.
"We appreciate the time you took to share your experience. Thank you for your business and for the review and as a token of our appreciation, we would like to offer you $20 off your next service repair or tune up."
This heat pump is not old. It was installed by Norris on 07/02/2010. From the first day it was installed, it put out a horrible smell through the air conditioning vents every time it came on. The same was true in the fall during the heating time.
After our complaining a lot and Norris sending out specialists they finally replaced it with a new one 04/12/2011. This last one has been better but we still get a strange mechanical oily burning smell in the first of the air-conditioner and the heating seasons. When we tell Norris this, they don't have an answer for us. So our heat pump is 3 years old this month.
We have had heat pumps in different homes in different states. We have never had odor coming through the home when the heat or air is on.
We have had conflicting comments from different servicemen from this company, who by the way always sends a different serviceman to our home. When the heat pump was installed we were told to change our home air filter every month and use the cheap non-pleated filters. So we faithfully did that and we were praised for that until last October.
The serviceman that came last October (another different serviceman) told us we needed our coils cleaned at the cost of $150.00 because we had been using the cheap non-pleated filters. He said we should not use the cheap filters but should instead use the pleated filters and change them every month. Who are we to believe?
I have commented to the company, since they installed our heat pump, that they leave it to me to contact them to set up the yearly maintenance plan. I have reminded them that they have my email address and yet they do not email me to set it up.
After going through all of this for 4 years with this company, we are now looking for someone else to service our heat pump through Angie's List.
We want a company that knows what they are doing; that shows us respect by not charging us more than what is being charged on the market for twice a year service calls; that will not try to sell us something we don't need and finally that is consistent with the way they train their service people.
"Dear [Member Name], We are truly sorry that you are not satisfied with the service we have provided you for several years. We are committed to 100% customer satisfaction and would like the opportunity to resolve any issues that are still happening. After the Norris Air Club maintenance check in 10/2013, you did not contact us so we were unaware that you were still having issues. We have stood behind our product and Customer satisfaction as we showed by replacing your first system that was installed in 4/2010 with another system that was installed in 7/2011 at absolutely no cost to you. As far as the Club Maintenance contract, you have had our Ultimate Savings Agreement contract for 2+ years. All of our technicians have ongoing training through Heat Pump Council, Coleman, American Standard, Amana, Venstar & Honeywell as well as ongoing In-house monthly training. Our technicians are all trained to recommend 30 day filters for your system, due to static pressure & additional stress on systems in Mobile Homes and Park Models, we recommend the regular fiberglass filters and not the pleated ones. We would really like to continue being your HVAC company, please give us a call so we can send a Factory Representative to evaluate your system."
I've had fans replaced in the AC before and didn't have to pay for a capacitor at the time. He insisted it needed to be replaced also even though the one in there was still good. I have my doubts now.
