They repeatedly would suddenly reschedule the installation of the countertop just days before it was previously scheduled to occur. Well, this threw everything else off ... we would then have to reschedule with a number of other subcontractors as well as the moving company. Making matters worse, we were having to pay rent on top of a mortgage because of these continued delays from MFF. We later came to find out that the materials had been sitting in their yard and there was no reason for the repeated postponements. After the third or fourth postponement, I contacted a guy named Brad with MFF's Silestone Division (or something like that). I left a message on his cell phone to call me back and that it was very important. Of course, no word from Brad, ever. My contractor, as irate as we were, spoke with a senior manager of that company about what was going on and Brad's repeated failures. I bet Brad might be unemployed now, if not, he's darn lucky.
After the 4th reschedule and about 2-3 weeks past due, MFF finally got around to installing the countertop. It was raining that day so they decided to set up shop in our garage where they cut piece after piece of quartz countertop. This process is VERY dusty. They took zero precautions and all of our possessions we had temporarily stored in the garage (because we just moved in) got covered by a thick layer of super-fine dust. They had to come back again because measurements were wrong, again ... after more delays and broken promises. Guess what? Still not done as of today. After all this, we have come to notice they forgot to calk the countertop seams on either side of the range.
Do yourself a BIG favor .... if you ever remodel a kitchen with a general contractor, find out who they are using as a subcontractor for the countertop. If they say Mesa Fully Formed, demand someone else or voice much concern. This is a company that would be out of business but for the fact they have a monopoly. The countertop material itself is absolutely stunningly beautiful and we get lots of compliments; we recommend Silestone, just stay clear from MFF .... you'll be happy you did.
Robert called us with an estimate and we arranged to meet him to go over the details of what we wanted. When looking at the pictures of our old table, he pointed out that there was an option for a backing that would help to prevent the top from warping. We decided that was a good idea.
About a week later, they called us to say the table top was ready. We brought in our old table top and they got rid of it for us. Robert gave us good suggestions for attaching the new table top to the base. The new table top is beautiful and is exactly what we wanted.
