I'm now in the process of finding a new agent with the assistance of the District Manager for Farmers, who has been appropriately apologetic about Mr. Hoffer's breakdowns in customer service.
I went to Mr. Hoffer's office for a detailed meeting about inheriting my house from my mother who had passed away recently, and we discussed important changes and upgrades to both my home and auto policies.
He didn't take any notes, saying his laptop was down and he would remember.
Thank goodness I took notes, because subsequently he did not follow through on doing anything he said he would do, and I had to write numerous emails and make a dozen calls to remind him and get him to do what he promised --
for ex. I said I wanted to pay my homeowners, auto and earthquake policies all at once, not in monthly payments, and a week later I started receiving statements for monthly payments.
It took weeks for his office to reply, and I finally got an email from an assistant there. When I responded to that email, I got an auto reply saying that address only functions for OUTGOING emails, and that if I wanted to write to the agency, I had to write to Jayson's's email directly. Of course that was ludicrous because Jayson never replied to emails sent to his address, nor texts, nor calls to his cell phone, etc. etc. :(
I could go on and on about the incredible frustrations I've experienced, but I've wasted so much time already on the phone with the corporate headquarters and then the district manager.
What's particularly disappointing is that Mr. Hoffer never once picked up a phone nor sent an email to apologize for the awful and quot;serviceand quot; from his office and total lack of attention to doing what he said he would when he said he would do it.
Find someone else.
