Each room in our house has been laid at a different height. Rich, the owner was advised by his team to grind the floors down so that they could be laid evenly and he refused to do so because he misquoted the job. There are step ups in rooms that never existed before along with cracking grout. In the bedrooms, the tile was laid so high that we can no longer remove the sliding doors from to closets, they are stuck in the tracks and will need to be broken out.
The master shower was created from scratch. When it was done the shower did not come to a 90* angle, it is extremely crooked and more like a 75* angel. The job was somewhat corrected after many complaints and upon doing so the crew used the wrong grout color so our grout came out as two different colors. This has to be redone as well but it was just painted over so eventually the mismatched grout will show.
The master floor is at several different heights. Differing by 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch depending where you are standing as his guys did not use a laser level. Immediately after laying this tile we told Rich that we were unhappy with it and he said that he would rip it out if need be, but that we would focus on it when the rest of the tile was done. We attempted to communicate with him several times but he ignored us and never responded. We will now have to pay another company to come and remove all tile and re do.
"The member has a few of his facts wrong. We never, ever, use cheap thinset, never. We used a high quality material on his job but his concrete was the one in a million that had a problem. We did the initial job in a week and everyone was happy. The issues began a bit later and so we came back and addressed them. I was happy to handle any issues that came up over the next month or so and paid for additional costs that came up. In this case their concrete acted in a way that in 25 yrs of experience I had never seen before and haven't seen since. Bottom line, as in any business, sometimes unforeseen and unfortunate things happen. When they did we handled them. Was the customer happy that there were problems, of course not. Did we run away from the problem. No, never."
"The member and his partner are really great to work for. I have now remodeled 2 bathrooms, a kitchen floor and, their backsplash for them now. So 3-4 returns for new projects and good results every time. Thanks again members!"
