We met with Mike Who listened to what we wanted and he put together a design and after some changes we were happy with the plan. Once work started it was a smooth process though we had some issues Mandie as well as Mike worked diligently to make sure all issues were resolved immediately. We made changes during the job and they we very accommodating to making the changes. I highly recommend CYC Landscaping

Mark, Chris and the CYC team are truly amazing! They really listened to our goal and vision to help us integrate fluidity of space into a detailed, wide-ranging plan, in the surround, of our new home. From every perspective, the team created valued function and beauty throughout the property. The proposed project had many challenges that were all met with calm, articulated execution. The CYC team provided/delivered comprehensive communication via meetings, emails/texts and prompt return phone calls for review, regarded feedback, and CYC recommendations which makes all the difference. As a result, design refinement, timely execution of simultaneous projects, budget concerns, skilled and knowledgeable performance, personal plant selection honored and secured, and emotional connection to the space with respect to the environment made for an enjoyable work experience. This is extremely important when considering a landscape company - which is why we choose CYC landscaping. Mark also assisted us during the HOA approval process by knocking it out in only two submissions. Our project was large in scale encompassing many technical and logistical challenges (BBQ Ramada, Putting Greens, Irrigation, Lighting, Pavers, Pool Travertine, Rock Walls, and Fire Elements). CYC is a full-service landscape company that completed every project and wish with excellence and distinction. We honestly could not have imagined how much enjoyment (relaxing and fun elements), and appreciation of a truly transformed oasis would bring to our family and friends. Perhaps, we are going on too much but the constant procession of people passing by to take pictures speaks for itself. Every person that encounters the property is amazed by the grace of design and so many unique vantage points. This was our second project and largest project with CYC Landscaping. We cannot say enough about the great experience we had with everyone at CYC! The ideas, on the spot changes to make it better, the immediate attention to any corrections - you name it we did it and CYC totally was a pleasure to work with. I have worked with CYC Landscaping on projects at 2 different houses I have owned. They have been extremely responsive to all of my needs. They have showed up when they said to all of our appointments, given great ideas and even supplied me with a detailed drawing showing exactly what they were going to do in my yard. Most importantly, when it came time to do the project I had a detailed timeline of when the project would be completed and they met it every time. As with any project, there can be hiccups, but CYC always remedied those issues quickly and made my yard look amazing. I cannot recommend them enough.

Original estimate undercounted plants needed; we were given the choice of adding 7 more plants (at $70 each), or changing the spacing. Contracted for 15 gal. plants, but newly repotted 5 gal. plants were brought to site and planted. When questioned, they claimed that their supplier made a mistake, and the price was adjusted without any hassle. They have been responsive to questions, and have subsequently replaced one bush that wasn't doing well without cost. We DO plan on using them again for further work.

The guy that they send out just asked me what my ideas were and did not offer any suggestions. A total waste of money.

It went well and I hired them additionally to take care of our yard.

They single-handedly turned my backyard sanctuary into a total mess that I can only pray can be remediated. I lost numerous trees (they were dying anyway I was told). They told me they would have an arborist look into my trees, told me they would trim bushes and branches at height I preferred. They said they would leave bushes wild as opposed to topiary. After 6 months of promises never met, and excuses (asking me if I knew how difficult it was to get good help is the worst of excuses given me by a foreman; that my definition of maintenance was one thing, their's was blow and go), I asked them to not return. I rec'd a call immediately asking what they could do and aside from restoring my yard and replacing trees and bushes, nothing. My fault for believing and trusting. They don't take notes, they don't follow instructions, they don't care about the trees and plants - just about blowing and going. The cost estimated is probably low, considering everything. To be fair, their initial tree trimming was well done, and I appreciated the full yard drip system, though think it might have caused some of the tree damage by not paying attention to where they were digging,

Met with Mike Grosstick, design manager and explained what we wanted. He came back with a design for the front and back including a pergola for the front courtyard - as requested. It was a lot more than we wanted to pay and worked with him to modify the design to make the courtyard smaller and eliminate the pergola. We also worked to phase the project into front and back and got the price down to ALMOST to where we wanted to be. The design cost me $300 and I was free to bid it out, or apply the $300 towards the job if we went with CYC. I called a few other places for bids but I quickly realized it was going to be difficult coordinating the project. I came back with a bottom line price for the entire job, which they accepted when a window in their planning opened up. They began the job about two weeks later. Thursday was excavation. Then Friday and Saturday their masonry contractor did the block work and the gate contractor measured for the custom gate. On Monday, CYC came back and worked everyday and completed the entire job by Thursday - one week from the start. The gate was installed after about 4 weeks later. Overall, the quality of the work was outstanding. Everyone was extremely professional and did a good job cleaning up every day. They minimized the disruption caused by material having to sit in the street for a couple days. Overall the cost was still a little more than I wanted to pay, but I gave them an A because they worked with me to get as close as possible to what I wanted to spend.

It was perfectly. Dan and his crew arrived right on time and did a terrific job. Dan explained several things he did, and he was very personable and professional; his crew members were the same. They did a very thorough job that made me very happy. I am definitely going to call them the next time.

They came on time and made the repair. About 30 days later one of the valves failed (that had been replaced) they came out and made the repair the day after I called for no charge. A few months later I had similar work done for another set of valves. Punctual, and professional. Will use again.

Apparently, the main business is the installation of the landscapes. If one wants a typical kind of xeriscape for which they have standard ideas, they can supply you with a design and plant list for your yard. It seems like they are geared to few questions and just having them come in a do a turn key yard without much (any?) input from the homeowner. If you are looking for artistic design and interaction, together with a group that will implement into their design what you have already decided upon ... it may be problematic. It certainly did not happen for me. In addition, the output from our two sessions together was late each time and did not come until well after the promised date, and did not come without my initiating inquiry as to where/when the promised results would be available. In the end, the design was pedestrian.

Good. I met with their rep and went over my requirements for the yards and my price range. He returned a finished and professional landscape plan for each house but their bid was higher than what I was looking for.

I purchased the Deal on January 31, 2017; Mike went out to the property on Feb 2, 2017. I did not hear anything, so I exchanged emails/phone calls requesting status update on February 7, 2017. Received a text from Mike on February 20th, only after emailing their office. Mike stating that he had sent me an email, but was having email issues. The text had a picture of list that was done on his phone Notes application with a vague description of what could be done, mainly just adding more rock and a few new plants (see attached) - his estimate $3-4k. I sent a text asking about the drawings. He called me, stating a misunderstanding and arranged to meet me at the property on March 9th. We met at the property on March 9th discussed at length that I needed a comprehensive plan that updated/modernized the yard, that I could implement in stages. Needed to develop a theme since the yard was a mismatch of plants and if we added new elements like a bbq/pagoda/whatever that it would need to provide continuity since it is a big yard. He said that it would take two weeks. Again, I had to chase him down, nearly a month later on April 2nd, I sent an email asking about the evaluation and plans; he replied saying that they were "with his cad guy who was slammed." I finally received the drawing today. After I received this drawing, it did not make sense because it was nothing we talked about, was uninspiring, the bbq faces a half basketball court and has a bar on the far side. You cannot see across the yard. Further, it had no list of costs or materials. It did not show how it would tie into the rest of the yard. We also discussed pavers, but I had told him that I preferred something more modern like geometric shapes of concrete, with grass (he said it would have to be artificial) in between. This is my first negative review on Angie's List. Most the other reviews for this Vendor were great, but I can't believe I wasted two months to get this stock drawing of an outdoor kitchen, which does not even take into account how the yard is situated. Additionally, I don't understand how Mike thought this would update my yard.

It went wonderfully - I could not have asked for a better partner in creating our backyard space. We interviewed and asked for quotes/designs from 4 companies and CYC was by far the one that listened most to what we needed, and offered designs that most matched what we wanted and with price options that allowed us flexibility. While they were not the lowest bidder for the work, I was confident that they were going to deliver based on the meetings, conversations and personalities they had on staff. And they did - not only were the owners highly ethical, responsive and considerate, but so were the managers, supers and workers. Everyone involved was professional and a pleasure to work with - and they have long-time staff from top to bottom, so they know and develop their staff - it's not just day-laborers. They finished on time, on budget, and when there were small issues, resolved them - and I must say they could've made some of my requests issues of contention, but rather worked with me to come to a compromise. We are thrilled with the result, and continue to believe we have one of the best backyards in the neighborhood!

It went great. The estimator worked with me to get me exactly what I wanted and in my price range. I really appreciated the ease of working with staff and their willingness to address any questions I had or revisions I needed. The process went well and I am very happy. My neighbors and others in the area really like the grass.

As it turned out, a rental property was listed when tenant moved. I asked Mark to make the curb appeal better as my Realtor advised. He did a low cost plan that definitely made the curb appeal better! The front of the house as well as the back were done within a week. The rock was delivered about 7AM and distributed to the yard before noon. Even the City of Scottsdale code enforcer was impressed! The house sold within the week.

Great - Design was perfect for what our budget was. The job was scheduled and executed just as they said it would be and they promptly took care of any issues that arose.
