I was delighted with Blooming Desert's work when they put in our front and back yard for our new house! We worked with J, who designed the landscape after talking with us to understand our needs and what we liked. He handled everything with understanding and professionalism from start to finish, and his design ended up looking even better, once put in, than it looked on paper! That is a sure sign of someone with a lot of experience in knowing what will and won't look good! BD did a great job, not only installing our yard when they promised and in the time-frame they promised (which was quick), but they supported us in every way, answering questions, coming out immediately when needed. In the end, we have a yard we're extremely happy with at a good value and obvious quality. Thanks for making this a great experience, J and BD team!

In 2011 we purchased a new home in Goodyear AZ. At the time of the purchase Blooming Desert was the contractor installing the landscape for the builder. Much of this project was done as absentee owners so we placed our trust that they would do the job right. We initially had them take care of the front yard as we had no choice. The first landscape designer handing our project left the company and Blooming Desert did not notify us and this almost caused issued with our closing.
After we did have the front yard done we replaced many of the plants due to poor installation, including planting too deep and adding to many drip emitters. We paid out of pocked to replace many these even within the warranty period after I was told they should look that way. Of major concern, we found out later was the planting of a Indian Rosewood tree over our water main feeding the house. The tree roots wrapped around the water main and sprinkler valves. Thankfully we had the tree removed and replaced with an appropriate tree before any major damage resulted. You would think that a firm specializing in landscape would know not to plant a tree known for invasive and destructive roots over a water main and 4 feet from the foundation of a home.
In November of 2011, we had Blooming Desert provide a bid to add pavers, plants, trees, drip and a fire pit in the back yard. Again this was done while we were absentee owners. During the quotation and design process Blooming Desert laid off our designer and neglected to share that with us.
The best part of the project was the installation of the pavers and the fire pit. The drip system had many leaks which I found in the months following installation. Worst of all was the absolute failure on the installation of the plants and trees. Once the installation began we were contacted and told that many of the plant types were unavailable and they substituted non comparable varieties. Of the 8 trees they planted in the back yard 7 of them where planted 6-12 inches below graft lines. This resulted in the deaths of 2 of the trees and in order to save most of the the remaining trees I had to dig a large pits around most of the bases to prevent the rotting of the trees. This is a pretty ridiculous solution to salvage something that should have been done right to begin with.
I have had several other tree experts to my home when I had the poorly planted trees replaced and they shook their heads in disgust at blatant disregard for basic planting principles. Thankfully they were able to instruct me on how to preserve the remaining trees.
Now that I have relocated to AZ and had time to speak with other design services, nurseries and landscapers I feel that not only was the installation provided sloppy I was charged above the going rate for installation of pavers, trees, plants and landscape lighting.
We have spent well over $1000 in materials, time, and effort to repair the sloppy installation job. Ironically we have found that real cost to purchase and have replacements professionally installed by knowledgeable planting services was less than the initial cost.
Between perceived over charges, change of landscape designers without notification two separate times, miserable quality control and poor warranty service I could not in good conscience recommend Blooming Desert to anyone.

This is one of the highest quality companies we have dealt with in the valley. They went out of their way to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted, including a 3D computer printout of what we envisioned for the yard. Their designer Brian worked with us for over two hours the first time we meant and than refined the layout as necessary after further discussion, before actual work was started. The foreman Kent and his crew started on a Monday and they were finished by noon on Friday. Kent and his crew were extremely efficient, knowledgeable, and thorough throughout the week. Kent did a walk though after they were finshed to explain how everything operated and to make sure we were satified with the final results as laid out by the designer They cleaned everything up after completion, which was nice to see since that isn't always the case nowadays. . As with most projects this size, there were a couple of hiccups, but even these were handled well and everything was done according to our plan. They even came out and fixed something two months later that really wasn't their issue, turned out it was the faulty work of one of the subcontractors of the home builder, but their goal is that we are satisfied with everything including followup when necessary. We would recommend this company, without hestitation to anyone, our yard is beautiful, relaxing, and well worth the wait to find the best company to install it. It was a pleasure to work with everyone associated with Blooming Desert, we wish there were more companies out there who put the customer first lke they obviously did for us, plus top quality products, workmanship, and service.

Please see above.
Perhaps they are worth a look for an estimate, as far as new builds go I think they just had too many projects to take on. That was my overall impression with the company.

Overall, the work that Blooming Desert completed at our home was very thorough and after a year of use it has not shown any problems. The crew that came out on the day of the install was very well prepared and they were professional from start to finish. I appreciated the fact that the landscape architect and the project manager both came to visit the site beforehand on a couple of occaisons to finalize the plans and denote any changes needed. Blooming Desert's work flow is fantastic, and I really felt they were putting in their best efforts despite the relative small size of my business.

This company was very organized. The demolition crew came in and in one day removed the existing patio, trees, and hedges and excavated. Then the carpenter came to build the arbor. The last crew came to install the irrigation system, lay the pavers, and do the plantings. The whole project took 8 days, which was amazing for the large area they covered, and they did a very quality job. We have a very finicky HOA, and our project manager, Jeff, did everything possible to work within their sometime unreasonable demands, and without a single complaint. We will be doing a front yard remodel in the next year, and Blooming Desert is our firm of choice.

They did a very good job all and all. There were a couple minor goofs but in large, the job was done very professionally. They came with a large crew and did it in eight days which shocked me as it was a lot of work.

The designer was helpful and easy to work with (although often too busy to return calls for a day or more). He had some excellent ideas and we really like the overall design. The installation did not meet our expectations. The crew often totally missed the design and we felt the on-site manager was not dealing with us honestly. We ended up with a lot of additional work to be fixed up and did some ourselves out of frustration. We felt the quality of the installation did not match the cost. We would not hire this company to install, but would work with the designer and hire someone else to install. Our designer was Dave Shuck.

THEIR SALES REPRESENTATIVE WAS AWESOME, AND PROVIDED US WITH A GREAT DEAL OF INFORMATION AND SUPPORT, PRIOR TO BEGINNING THE PROJECT. THE ACTUAL WORKERS WERE A LITTLE DIFFICULT IN THAT WE FELT WE HAD TO WATCH CONSTANTLY, TO MAKE SURE THEY KEPT WITH THE PLAN (AS IT SEEMED TO CHANGE WHEN THEY WERE HERE!). PRICING WAS GOOD, ALTHOUGH IT REQUIRED A LOT OF NEGOTIATION. OVERALL, THEY PROVIDED US WITH A GREAT YARD THAT WE ARE VERY HAPPY WITH.
