Landscaping
Dave the landscaper/owner said he would come out to give us an estimate, but unfortunately there was some sort of communication error and no one was home when they came to our house.
They were able to meet with my wife a couple days later, and she told them exactly what needed to be done. 1) Yard Cleanup 2) Estimate for Drip System (Irrigation) Repair 3) Estimate for Gravel Maintenance. The scope of the estimate was to clean up the yard including edging/mowing the front/back yard, blowing out the entire property, trimming the bushes and shrubs, removing a dead ruellia bush, cutting back the grapefruit tree, palm trees, and some "volunteers" on a tree in the back yard for $225. The monthly price to maintain the yard would be $110.
The work that the landscaper did was excellent, however the landscaper missed a few of the yard cleanup items that were documented in the proposal. No big deal, Dave graciously agreed to come back out the next day to remediate the missed items. His plan was to come out in the morning before we went to work. Unfortunately, there was another communication error and he was able to show up that morning. He was able to come out the next day and fixed everything to our satisfaction. Again, he did a great job.
In regards to the Estimate for the Drip System Repair and estimate for the gravel maintenance:Our irrigation system was apparently installed incorrectly where the valves that control the zones were inaccessible and unable to be located easily. When the landscaper was out doing the yard cleanup, he gave an hourly estimate for repair, but unfortunately we weren't able to get in contact with the landscaper after the yard cleanup to come out to work on it.
The landscaper agreed to give an estimate on gravel, but that may not be his forte (or maybe it just isn't profitable work), so we weren't able to get an estimate on the gravel work for whatever reason.
We inquired about when they would be able to come out to start the monthly maintenance, and unfortunately didn't hear back about that either. Overall we are a bit dissatisfied with the communication, and also disappointed since we were very happy with the work completed.
