Once the product arrived, they were very good with letting it acclimate the few days, then getting it laid. However, another unfortunate expense came up when they discovered that the travertine surrounding where the new flooring would go, was higher than they anticipated, so instead of just leveling with concrete, they put in hardibacker to bring the floor up the 1/2 inch it needed to be level with the travertine. This was unanticipated increase in cost that basically blew our budget for this job. I can't really blame Artistic for this though, unanticipated problems do come up, and they found a good solution that in the end looks great.
One other issue is that when the job was done, the balance paid, and the crew was gone, we discovered that there were some large white spots on part of the floor and some additional caulking was needed after the floor settled a bit. I got the impression that they were going to come back and make sure everything was 100% perfect, but even after i called, they came out and didn't really make it perfect. They tried to address the white spots with some wood cleaner but were not really successful. They said it should work itself out as we use the floor and continue to clean it, and i suppose it will. However, this is the only reason why I can't give them an "A" on overall and for 'quality' even though I feel like perhaps it should be a B++.
When all was said and done...they did a fine job and they backed it up with a two year guarantee. The crew was very courteous and they cleaned everything up so i didn't have to worry about a thing.
