Not sure where to start with this company. First off, stay far away from this company. They can’t even do a simple install. I had Dukes of Air come out to do a full install at my house on January 15th, 2024. The first crew that came out were nice. I left them to it and went to work. After they were done with the install, I came home to finish the paperwork. That is when I started noticing things right away that didn’t look right. First, the flue pipe looked like a hot mess and wasn’t fastened correctly. Next, I noticed a lot of tape around the furnace and the Plenum, which looked like garbage. Next, I went inside where they replaced the return grill, which looked horrible. The guys told me they would come back and fix it. After the install crew left, I started noticing even more things wrong. One being the Plenum looks like a five-year-old put it together. Then I asked for a service manager to come out, which Patrick came out and took a look at, and was very disappointed in the install overall. Patrick scheduled a whole new crew to come out on Wednesday to fix it. In the meantime, I fixed the flue pipe to make it adequate. The second crew that showed up on Wednesday did a little better than the last crew with the Plenum and fixing some of the stuff on the install. After they left, we had to get on the road to get to California. Before we left, I noticed a lot of screws on the driveway and in our garage that they did not clean up (found a handful on the first day too). I thought I had all the screws cleaned up after they left but my wife’s car tire found one. Luckily, I did not drive all the way up to California with a screw in my tire. We took my other car to California and had the tire fixed when we got back. I had to fix the PVC pipe and the wiring to tuck it to make it look nice when we came back from our trip. Then we had the other manager come out and do a final check on everything to make sure everything was working properly. At this time, I thought everything was okay. Seemed like the system was running okay. Over the next couple of days, I smelled gas and I thought maybe it was just a new install smell. After looking closer, I found out that there was a gas leak from the new gas line that they installed on my Furnace, which also was a crap job. Stay far away from this company. Having two crews, two managers out to fix nothing, I realized to stay away from Dukes of Air. I post some pictures. I would have a different company come out and check their work.

This week, my old AC system broke down and could not be repaired. In the past, I have used Dukes of Air for service on the old system and had been satisfied with their service. So, I called them to replace the unit. Yesterday, August 31, 2023, Arizona Dukes of Air installed my new AC Unit. This morning, I heard a loud banging in my side yard, and came out to discover my new AC Compressor unit violently shaking on the pad with the corner bouncing into the air. It was acting like it was preparing to run off. I leaned on the unit to stop the shaking and banging and called Dukes of Air. The technician showed up quickly. He determined the compressor was overheating and used my hose to pour water on it to cool it down. After this he told me the compressor overheated because it went into reverse mode. He said this is so rare he had never seen it before but felt confident in assuring me it would never happen again. He also said someone would be by later to make sure the compressor was properly stabilized and wouldn’t go into reverse mode again. No one showed, no one called. I attempted to reach the person who sold me the unit, but they are out of town for the long weekend and recommended I call the manager. After calling and leaving a message with the manager about my concerns, I still have not received a call or a visit from a technician. I am very upset about being left with a defective compressor, in what feels like a dangerous situation, with no recourse and no response. At the least this is unprofessional if not actually negligent.

A week ago, I would’ve highly recommended this company. After my most recent experience with them, I highly DO NOT recommend this company and after my conversation with Patrick I now feel the need to share my story. On Monday, I woke up to my AC not working. Very stressful situation here in the state of Arizona. I have been a loyal customer of Dukes of Air and they’ve been servicing my unit since I purchased this home 4 years ago. I contacted them and set an appointment between 1-3pm that day. The temperature in my home got up into the 90s! When Todd the technician arrived, He assessed my system and notified me that my run capacitor was shot and I would need to change that out. I was grateful! It was going to be fixed! He came back down shortly after and said he had some bad news. When he put in the new part the system ran for 3 seconds and stopped working. He stated, “I couldn’t live with myself if I charged you for that part” and recommended replacing the whole unit because the compressor was shot and that would run $3600 to replace. I wasn’t super surprised because when I had my unit serviced before the summer, a different tech said that I would be needing to get a new unit soon because all of the parts and coolant were going to be obsolete next year. I moved out of my home and spent the next couple of days getting quotes for a new AC unit because that’s the smart thing to do. One of my friends recommended a company here in Ahwatukee and I called them (at 8pm at night) seeing if I could get a quote on a new unit and told them the whole story of what happened. The owner said that it didn’t make sense. If the technician was able to get the system to run for 3 seconds, the compressor was still working and something else was going on. On my next day off I had this guy come out and reassess my unit. He replaced both the run capacitor and the start capacitor and had my system up and running in no time! He also stated that my AC unit could last another 5 years. So, either the Dukes of Air technician flat out lied to my face or was just not competent in his job to properly diagnose and fix my AC unit. Either way… this is why you should choose another AC company for your servicing and replacement needs. And to top off the whole thing, I get a call from some guy named Patrick who I notified of my concerns. And what did he do? He proceeded to be condescending and quite rude. When I asked him what the point of this phone call was for, he responded, “to make sure we are all on the same page!” That doesn’t even make any sense Patrick! Yet another reason you should not use this company. Their customer service is awful! Patrick… you should not be calling upset customers. Your customer relations skill are not on point. Because of this conversation I will be telling everyone I know along with everyone I do not know about my experience with Dukes of Air. And recommend they go with another AC company!

A different AC repair service company I had used in the past for annual maintenence could not find the failure, but they charged me for "a repair call". I still had the intermittent water overflowing the pan in my attic. I called Dukes of Air and received a very professional and thorough inspection. The persistent technician found that a small animal (mouse?) had climbed into my drain pipe at the exterior of the house and left twigs and blockage materials that caused water to back up every few months. He had to cut open the garage wall to get drain pipe access, which I had to later patch and repair, but he was able to solve this crazy problem. His level of expertise and persistence far surpassed the other repair service.

Dukes of Air - Came out when they said they would. Since this was just a review and check-up of our A/C, it is difficult to know what value they brought to the table. Still, they set an appointment date, followed up to confirm appointment and showed up on time. He went about his work directly and was neat about coming and going Would use again for next service need.

The Arizona Dukes of Air lived up to its motto "Exceeding Your Service Expectations." On December 19-20,2016, Manny, Luis, Beto, and Freddy, the crew from Arizona's Dukes of Air, arrived at my home at 8 a.m. and started the installation of the 2 new air conditioners over a 2- day period. The crew did all work in an efficient and effective manner answering all the questions that I had. When the job was finished, Manny went over a checklist of the work with me explaining everything in detail. It was quality work; you will not be disappointed with the Arizona's Dukes of Air!

June 4, 2016 was first REALLY hot day of the year. The A/C unit for the second floor was blowing hot air. The unit is only 6 years old. I called at approximately 5 pm and was told that Todd would be at my house between 6pm and 7pm. I was delighted knowing that on days like this, getting someone to service A/C on an emergency basis can be difficult when so many people have A/C problems. Todd arrived at 6:30 pm. The condenser needed to be replaced. The repair took under an hour and they charged me $192 dollars which included the cost of the service fee ($67). My second floor was cool by bedtime. Todd was polite and upbeat in spite of having spent a long day in the heat. I could not have been happier and plan to have them back for future service.

Called around 6pm.  Came out at 9pm.  A/C wasn't blowing and turned out to be a faulty switch (e.g. light switch) in the attic.  Tech didn't have the part, so ran to a store and bought one and installed it.  Very professional.

John arrived on time and wore booties to protect the flooring. He asked about our system performance and the went up into the attic. After a good 45 minutes to 1 hour he can down and announced that the system looks great. He even had pictures showing that we had nothing to worry about. He cleaned and inspected the exterior units too and have them a clean bill of health. John was professional, friendly, and HONEST. No un necessary up selling or scare tactics. I now have a regular AC guy and keep the fridge magnet where I can find it!
