He then told the cabinet company (he hired per our contract-he was to hire all subs) to bring my cabinets to his office and he would hold them until he received the remaining balance of the job. I HAD TO PAY $2300.66 FOR THE CABINETRY!! Jeff Rudek refused, and per our contract "all materials" were to be covered by the initial $7200.00 he already received. He is refusing to finish the job, the workmanship is subpar. I have contacted the ROC, and made a complaint. On May 21 the ROC has scheduled a meeting at my home to inspect the job, and has advised all star to finish by that time. As of May 15, when I received the ROC letter, Jeff from all star has not made any attempt to contact me to set up completion of my work. Do not pay this company until the work has been completed, or you may have a similar experience to mine.
Description of Work: My contract with all star states 50% up front, 40% upon completion and 10% upon final walk through. I paid 7200.00 at the beginning of the project to cover all supplies, materials per our contract. I chose cabinetry Feb 15 and Jeff Rudek of all star did not return his contract with the sub until march 18. Therefore my cabinets were not ordered until then. Finally on May 1, the sub doing the cabinets called and advised me there was a balance of $2300.66 due on the cabinetry which all star was refusing to pay. I called Jeff his words to me was you have to pay me $7200.00 more to get your cabinets, you will do what ever you have to to get them." I explained per our contract, his next payment would occur when the job was complete, and since I have no cabinets or countertops his job was not complete. I told him my mortgage co. only had $5500.00 in escrow for repairs and I could only get that much. Within 10seconds- he dropped his price to $5200.00 see how did it go overall.....

They are horrible and they don't communicate. While they were on my property the people that work for him only spoke Spanish. They damaged a stainless steel refrigerator and broke a lamp. In the master bedroom he ripped up the carpet and laid new carpet. The carpet that he laid now has a line through the whole length of the room. They came out to repair it but only repaired 2 ft. of it, and his response was that is how it's supposed to look. The contract was signed Jan 22nd and we were told that it was going to take 6-8 weeks and we are still not done. When I call them and leave messages to return my call they never return my call unless they are looking for more money. I have paid them $7,200 but the contract is for $15,023.67.
Description of Work: They were supposed to restore my house after freeze damage.
