"Sorry [Member Name Removed] your right I should have gotten back to you. I usually try to be helpful even in areas not in my realm like heaters. I never did hear back from the heater guys and I just plain forgot to call you back. I did receive your one text which sparked me to call the heater guy again which he never got back to me either. I sincerely apologize again you are right that is completely unprofessional."
I read the other reviews: all A ratings. Unfortunately, these reviews do not match my experience with Sky Blue Pools.
On September 9, 2013, we came home to a deep green pool: not a sky blue pool. The pump motor had stopped working at some point. I called Joey Grant ( company owner) and asked why he failed to provide the weekly pool service I was paying for. He said he was servicing the pool on a weekly basis. I then asked him, if he had been servicing the pool weekly, why my pool was green. It was so green I could not even see the vacuum hose beyond 6 inches from the surface of the pool. He said, "because the pump motor is not working". My next questions were, if he was servicing the pool weekly and knew the pump wasn't working, why he didn't call me so I could have it fixed before the pool turned green. His explanation was that, " he was waiting for a pump motor that he might (maybe, not for sure) get for free from another customer, and "he was going to give free to me and install" - free motor, free install. He said he "was then going to clean up my pool - for free I'm assuming because he was responsible for allowing it to go green. All this pretentious service is much more then I was paying for, and way beyond what I would ever expect from anyone - even the Mother Theresa of pool service.
I suspect he, knowing that no one was around to observe, wasn't servicing the pool weekly: perhaps he was showing up every other week or once every 3rd week judging from the condition of the pool. His normal routine is to leave weekly notes reporting the status of the pool. The last written note he left giving the status of the pool was dated August 16, 2013. The note said he added acid to the pool, and it made no mention of any problem with the pump motor. We returned home to the green pool on September 9th. My guess is that he returned to service the pool perhaps two or three weeks from the date on the last note and discovered a broken pump and a green pool. Judging from the condition of the pool, it could not have deteriorated to the state it was in in just six or seven days. Joey Grant was very prompt with cashing the monthly checks I was sending him for the service. Unfortunately , he was not diligent at providing the service the checks were paying for.
After I fixed the pump and cleaned up the pool myself, I called Joey asking if he thought he should reimburse the monthly fees he charged for the service he failed to fulfill. He agreed to reimburse me for the months of August and September. He said he would mail a check. I never received the check.
He is not aware that I subscribe to Angie's List. So, he's in for a bit of a surprise when he sees this review. And I expect we will all see a prompt response from Joey when he reads this review and attempts to explain all this away.
