Pitzer's Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Western AZ

While initially on the phone with Pitzer's a yearly maintenance agreement was offered for purchase which I declined at that time. An appointment was set up later in the same day. The technician showed up on time and was cordial and friendly. I was informed during his visit that the water softener had burned out. After that I was offered two softener systems each priced at over $5,000. No other system including another water softener was offered.

This is my rental property at Lake Havasu City, AZ.

My hot water heater was leaking so I called Pitzer's Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Western AZ, because I have a yearly maintenance contract with them. I know nothing about water heaters and wasn’t sure what to do or if I should do anything. The person I spoke to first was kind of condescending. What I wanted was to talk to a service person to find out if they should come out or if I could (or should) shut off the heater and then they could come out the next day (It was around 11:00 p.m.). She said I couldn’t talk to anyone that she would put in the service call and it would cost me $75.00. Not having much of a choice I said OK.
The Service man called about 20 minutes later, which I thought was a good response time since it was so late. He said that he did not have a water heater so could not replace mine that night and could I wait until the morning around 8:00 a.m. I said sure if he could tell me how to turn off the water heater, he said he could come to my house and do it for me but it would cost me $75.00, I asked if I could do it but he didn’t seem comfortable with telling me how over the phone, so I asked him to please come and do it for me.
He came to the house about 30 minutes later and turned off the water heater and said someone from the office would call me tomorrow morning, around 8:00 a.m. to set up an appointment to replace the water heater. He called me about 8:30 and said
he could be at my house in about an hour with a new water heater to replace my old one, which I again thought was a good response time. However, it would cost me around $1,300. I thought that was way too much so I said I would get back to him.
We called ‘Bullhead’ Plumbing Inc, Bullhead City, AZ to get pricing from them. They could replace my water heater in the next couple of hours for $675.00. ‘Bullhead’ Pluming Inc. was who had sold and installed the broken water heater 5 years ago (warranty was up 5 months ago) since we had been happy with their service then I said OK. They came out about an hour later and replaced our water heater in about 2 hours. I was very happy; I had hot water about an hour later.
Pitzer’s called me later that day to find out what had happened. The woman I spoke to was very nice but she didn’t think it was fair of me to put this review on Angie’s List.
All in all Pitzer’s was professional and responsive but their prices are way way to high and having a service contract with them
did not help me in the least. I will probably not use the plumbing side of Pitzer’s again.

Drain replugged 2 weeks later, They did come out at no charge and 'Blow' out line.Service was prompt both times but very overpriced and hard sell for membership in service club.

Repaired a leak under the home and replaced the turn off master valve.

It went very well, the plumber tried to make the park manager understand the repair should have been at his expense but the manager wasn't having any of it. I authorized the repair at my expense in order to have a safe and reliable source of potable water.
The plumber was very concerned about expenses and charges and kept them to a minimum I feel. He did a fine job under the circumstances.
