Full Throttle Landscape Maintenance

This company is not a licenced contractor, and we were aware of that when we hired them.  We had a couple of other estimates that were higher, but went with this guy because he could do the work sooner, plus his quoted price was lower.  We had a 50-ft long flower bed that had a front retainer of wood 4x4's that were old and crooked.  The garden side of the retainer is soil, the other side is rocks.  Their task was to remove the 4x4's and replace them with a brick retaining wall, 2 bricks high.  We selected and purchased the bricks from Home Depot, and the day of installation, they picked them up and transported them to the garden site.  It was a fiasco from the get-go...  The 'owner' of the company left his worker to do the work after we discussed what needed to be done.  The rocks had to be pulled away from the garden area to install the bricks flat on the dirt, then the rocks should be pushed back up to the bricks.  This was not done, and the guy was basically stacking the bricks on top of the rocks, so they were not flush and rocks were going into the garden from under the bricks.  The wall was not straight, and the bricks were installed upside down with the lip up instead of down.  We complained, the owner came out and straightened the wall as best he could and turned over the top layer of bricks.  The whole job should have been done over, and the guy was apologetic, but took his money and left it for us to deal with.  We will never use this company again and would not recommend them.
