Contractor and I discussed the work to be done prior to start of work. On side of house he was to pour concrete with a trench to run water away from side of house and away from neighbor's yard so water would run to front yard in the trench. On the back of the house he was to pour concrete so the water run off from rain would run to the north and into my back yard and not onto that side neighbor's yard (that was also to be a trench.)This was agreed upon before he started the work. He poured two slabs of concrete in the front yard and instead of running downward from the front of house as he said he would do; he poured it to run down from each side of house toward the center of the yard and then downward causing a slope to the center of the front yard and then down toward the street.  He poured one half of the concrete and then the other half. One side of concrete is approx. 4 shades darker than the other side.   He also poured the concrete in the back not into a trench but he made it slope into the neighbor's side yard.  On top of that he poured it onto the neighbor's yard up to touch the neighbor's garage.  When I mentioned to him that he did not pour the concrete completely across the rear of the house, he apologized and said he forgot to do that half when the cement truck was here and he would go get concrete and pour that portion himself. He never did pour that portion of concrete.
I reported him to the Registrar of Contractors. The inspector from the Registrar of Contractors came out and the Contractor lied to the inspector.  He said that I had given him permission to pour concrete over onto the neighbors yard.  I did not give him permission to do that; as it was not my property and the property line was clearly marked by a chain link fence on two sides of the house.  He also said he was not supposed to pour the concrete on the entire back of the house.  He was told I wanted a 4ft gate for the front yard and it was to be a minimum of 2 ft away from the gas meters.  He put the gate posts right next to the gas meters and not only that the gate posts he put in the concrete is for a 3 ft gate and not a 4ft gate and it would open right at the gas meters.  He was told repeatedly not to put the gate there when he kept saying that is where it should be.  I told him numerous times that because of the gas meters that the gate should be away from them so there would be no chance of anyone hitting the meters with the gate.
This contractor did not do anything the way he told me it was to be done and totally ignored me when I repeated numerous times what was to be done and he had agreed to the work.  The worst is he lied to the ROC Inspector and I am now stuck with his shoddy work that people have commented on how bad it looks.
