My garage door was stuck in the open
position, with one wheel out of the tack and the cabling on one side off the
roller. It was a mess. I was able to repair it myself and it worked fine for
about 4 hours and then it happened again. I just had my garage door serviced
one month ago by Sears who replaced the spring for $245.42, you can read their
not so good review if you like. I knew I needed professional help so I called
up Stan Greer. I spoke with Scott who was in the area working with another
customer. This was on a Saturday by the way. He told me he would be over in
about two hours. He arrived after one hour, talk about prompt. He took one look
at the door and said, "No problem." He fixed the cables, tightened
the spring, oiled it all up and had it working beautifully in less than an
hour. It's working great to this day. When I asked what seemed to be the
problem he mentioned that the spring wasn't tighten enough and it was the wrong
type for the door, but it would still work. As you can guess I wasn't too happy
about the news, after spending $245 with Sears, but was glad Scott was able to
come by on such short notice to fix the problem. But the best part was yet to
come. So once he was done I asked him how much did I owe. He said nothing. He
didn't charge me a dime. What a great guy. I couldn't leave him empty handed so
I gave him some cash for his time and travels.
Buyer beware, check you contract and what IS or ISN'T included with cabinets. Mine just said cabinets, no were did it say "Hardware/ door pulls not included."
