They say in the commercials that they give you up to 12 megabytes but they don't always give you 12 megs. There are hidden fees and everything has to be in a bundle. I can't wait until I can get rid of them.

It didn't go well. CenturyLink customer service was downright rude. For example, we were scheduled for a field technician to come to our home and diagnose the problem. On the scheduled day of service, we were told that the visit was cancelled because our problem was fixed (which it was not). We were not even asked if service was restored before this cancellation.
We ended up cancelling our service with CenturyLink and buying a noticeably faster, more reliable service from Rock Mountain Internet. As it turns out, this was a less expensive alternative (we pay $25 a month less) , because we changed our home phone land line from CenturyLink to an additional Verizon cell phone. A note of caution to anyone who wants to drop CenturyLink. Cancel your internet service BEFORE changing over your land line or CenturyLink will continue to charge you for internet service for several days after they terminate your phone service. Can we even access the internet once the phone line is turned off?

They are okay. I had a little glitch about a year ago when I got a new modem or DSL thing.

I think they are fine, They are the only local provider in the neighborhood for phone. If you wanted to just use your cell phone then you have lots of service providers but not with landline. I haven't experienced any problems so I give them an A rating.

We have had one service call in the past year, and they were prompt and punctual. I am fine with them. We think the price is high.

I am not pleased with their service. They are pretty much competitive. The actual CSO is excellent but their technical help is practically nonexistent. We are locked into a contract right now. These companies kind of have you over a barrel because you change everything to their e-mail address and then, if you want to switch the company, you have to go through letting everybody know your new e-mail address, and it is just a pain. It took them three months to bury a cable in our backyard. I would not use them again if I had a choice.

I first contacted Qwest, now Century Link in May, 2011, to install DSL at our new home. They turned on the service. The company said we didn't need to be at home for them to turn on the service. The day they were to turn on the service, I received a call from the technician who said that nobody was home and he couldn't complete the order. We rescheduled for the next day. Technician showed up and said the cable from the junction box to the box at the house was bad and needed to be replaced. He ran a new cable, on the ground, from the junction box outside the back gate to the box on the outside wall of the house. There was 20-30 feet of cable lying on top of the ground in our back yard for the dogs to trip on and pull. The tech said he would put in a ticket for the company to get someone out to bury the cable.A week later, I called Century Link as I hadn't heard from anyone about scheduling burying the cable; they said they had no record that a ticket was put in for the work. The rep was very helpful and said she would put in another ticket. Another month goes by, so I called again; no ticket could be found in the system. Another ticket put in for the work. This went on for over three months. Finally, a tech came out, again, said she would put in a ticket, and within a week, someone showed up to bury the cable. Fine, so that was in August. Since then, on 4 occasions, my secondary email account disappeared. Calls to tech support are an exercise in frustration. The first time, the tech support guy had an accent so thick I could hardly understand what he was saying. All he did was walk me through the steps I had already tried. We ended up having to delete the account and set it up again, after spending over an hour on the phone with tech support who had no idea what to do. Same thing on the second and third times. Today, the email account disappeared again. Another hour on the phone with tech support. The final resolution was that a request was put in to email support who are supposed to investigate the problem and will get back to us in 24-48 hours. In the meantime, no email on the secondary account, which belongs to my partner. They couldn't even redirect the email to my address.

Landline Phone Service
Absolutely TERRIBLE.
I never got the quoted price.
My Direct TV contract is for 2 years or I have to pay an cancellation fee.
I called every month for the first six months and even wrote to the CenturyLink Executive Offices twice and I got no response at all.
And I find it particularly interesting that each CenturyLink person I spoke with claimed the last person set up my account wrong. Clearly CenturyLink sells bundles their own employees do not know how to set up.

Century Link is the local internet provider. It took 4 tries to get them out here to install the service when they said they would be here. Twice they gave us the wrong date and also said they put us on the 'emergency' list after the 2nd screw-up. They never showed up and when we called to check they had scheduled us for a week from when they had said they would be out.
Come to find out all the tech had to do was make sure the line was live and drop off the box with the router/modem, no installation included. That was an undisclosed extra. Now that we have the service, I find out it is only 1.5 Mb and so slow, even though I was assured I would be able to do video conferencing, etc., on it. Looking for other options-surely someone else can provide even marginally better/faster service.
