Brush Stroke Painting LLC

Started job in March 2020. 2 painters for 4 hours each which amounts to $1500/8 hours or $187.50 per hour is what I paid. Promised no streaks/blotches. However job was just touch up and streaks/blotches appeared after walls dried. Contractor promised to return but to this date never showed up or contacted me. Very disappointed in lack of professionalism to followup bad job to make it right. In retrospect could have painted a number of rooms for the $1500 charge.

Estimating Process:  We called 5 local paint contractors that were recommended by neighbors or members of our homeowners association.  First we asked each contractor if he is licensed, bonded and insured.  One of them said he was no longer licensed, so we didn't ask him for an estimate.  

Eric Saunders, owner of Brush Stroke Painting, was the first to make an appointment and the first to give us an estimate.  Eric arrived on time for his morning estimating appointment and spent an adequate time looking over the job.  He emailed us his estimate (including labor, paint & materials) that afternoon along with a list of addresses of local homes he'd recently painted so we could drive by and see his work.  

A second contractor sent "his painter" out to take a look at the job...we never heard back from him.  A third contractor spent 45 minutes looking over the job and emailed us his bid a few days later  and it was $2,300 more than Eric's!  After waiting over a week for the other three contractors to respond, we received permission from our HOA's architectural committee on our color selection and we hired Eric.  He scheduled our job to begin 1-1/2 weeks later.

We finally heard from one of the remaining three painting contractors two weeks after we'd initially called him.  We told him we'd already hired someone else and, boy, are we glad we did!

Day 1:  1:00 PM - Eric and his crew of two arrived on time and quickly pressure washed all the surfaces.  Afterward, they also repaired the stucco, caulked and painted with elastomeric where needed.  They said they'd be back at 6:00 am the next morning to start painting.

Day 2:  6:00 AM - Eric and his crew arrived on time and quickly started painting and masking off to protect areas we didn't want painted.  The crew worked fast and happily conversed as they changed our dingy house to a thing of beauty!  Eric himself does the spray painting while the other two did the masking and brushed trim work.  They finished painting our 2200 square foot house and surrounding block walls by 1:00 that afternoon and started the clean-up process.  They left around 2:00.

Having Brush Stroke Painting paint our home was an amazing and wonderful experience!  We wish other types contractors we've used in the past were as easy to have around as Eric Saunders and his two assistants.  Eric has lived in this area all his life and learned the trade from his father.  His brother is a painter, too.  He did everything right!  He returned our call, kept his appointments, showed up on time, did what he said he would do and his prices are very reasonable and he stuck to his estimate -- there were no unpleasant surprises, only good ones!  We highly recommend them to anyone and would be happy to answer any questions you might have.
