Do not use this company for property management. As a military officer, we had to move and Brand 1 managed our house for @5 yrs. In that time, the quality of service went down significantly, specifically when D.J. Montlagh began managing the property. There were several incidents of "repairs" being performed where money was taken out of the rent or the deposit with no substantiating documentation. One early example, was a $1000 reduction from the rent payment to paint half the wall in one room. We requested receipts for all repairs and to this day, we have yet to receive a single receipt. We even formally requested a copy of our file (twice) and have not received that either. Brand 1 also rented our home to very suspect tenants, the most recent tenants caused over $12,000 in damages; the extent of the damage indicates that it occurred over an extended amount of time; this suggests that DJ was not completing the necessary inspections and not checking on the property. When the tenants basically moved out over night, DJ finally went in the house and relayed the extent of the damage to us. His exact words were "he felt really bad" and admitted that it was Brand 1's responsibility and indicated that the company would take care of damages. He changed his tune a week later and then we ended up on a merry-go-round of lies and phone tag. Since June, we still have not received our deposit back (this also happened with our previous tenants), although we were told (by DJ) that it was in the mail. DJ also has a tendency to tell my wife one thing and me something completely different. We both have Masters degrees so how dense is he to think we wouldn't compare notes. We think he is either the owner or part owner, but we both have first hand experience of his cheating and lying. These are just a few of the less than professional/ethical business practices we have experienced with Brand 1. There are many more. Had our property been managed properly, all of this could have been avoided.
