This project was a long time in gestation. We originally contacted Mark in November 2007 and at that time he gave us his estimate of $19,978. Then I became ill, and by the time I was fully operational again the hot weather had begun so we decided to put everything off until the fall. At that time we again solicited bids for the project from Mark and two other Angie's List contractors, and felt that Mark's bid was the most credible of the three (it was the same as it had been in 2007). By November we were in a position to ask Mark for three references, which he gave us right away and which checked out. We signed the contract November 17, Mark had the permit by Friday, Dec. 4, and started work the next week. Mark was present every day of construction. When the framers put the space for the heat-pump in the wrong place Mark was there within the hour to have them change it. When the paint for the interior walls didn't seem to my wife to satisfactorily match the paint on the walls of our living room, Mark was there to get the problem solved, as he was when there was a question about the color of the door. There were no delays in the project--they even worked in the rain one day-- which was finished Dec. 30. I paid for the project in installments of $4,000; a deposit for materials, at the completion of the concrete work, at the completion of framing, at the completion of drywall, and final check which Mark, per his original estimate, billed at $3,978, but for which I gave him the extra $22 dollars (big deal). The above may sound a little over-enthusiastic, but I really can't find anything bad to say aboout the guy. Of course, we have only been in the new room--which my wife intends to use as an in-home office for her job---for a couple weeks, but so far, so good. If anything goes wrong, we have a year's warranty from Mark, and I'm sure he'll be there to fix it.

Mark came by every day and checked on his crew. The fireplace supplier was a problem, but Mark worked to make everything right. He even went about what we asked for.
